I Am Anxious

I have to do a 100 hour internship for a current class. I hoped that I could knock it out in 2 and a half weeks but I can only go a couple days a week, since that's when they have space for me. I only have one assignment, which is research, but I'm there 8 hours a day. Yes, I know the point of internships is to learn the ropes, talk to people, ask questions etc, but being introverted and not really a "people person" I don't want to talk to people. I want to get it over with, get my 100 hours and my credit for it and move on. I will ask for more tasks but the thought of it is just depressing. And the thought of it being dragged out 8 weeks instead of 2 for the aforementioned reasons, is more depressing. It means I have more time to be anxious and uptight about it all. And I have to give a couple of presentations too.馃槗

You can use your internship on your resume when you complete this class. What you have to keep in mind with this, and every other opportunity you receive, is that it can help you by building your background and also in allowing the company for whom you will interning to vet you and see if you are the type of person who is friendly, non-confrontational, willing to learn, and eager to work. If you do well, you can request that your direct supervisor under whom you will be interning to give you a business recommendation. Just remember that people WANT to like you...all you have to do is remember to smile.
