And as I age, I come to understand more and more why adults are as they are...

...no longer children on the front, forced to live with a game face on because they have to, constantly weighed by things they deem important, chasing and running, always looking and fighting for more, getting cynical, devoid of if not slowly losing hope, sense of wonder and those dreams and beliefs that their younger selves had...

What happened to you that you have become an adult?

That’s the unfortunate reality. I became an adult at 17 when I moved out of my parents because they were verbally abusive. They never taught me anything about life. I often feel like I’m behind and I’m playing catch-up while all the people around me around my age are doing really well. Someday I’ll get there, but for now I’m struggling a bit.

We all have our struggles in life and for a lot of people they hit their breaking point at some point. You have to chase the things you love and not let them go. You make a mistake or something bad happens, you take the pain and you keep going. Find the people that love you. Be your own best advocate. Don’t put up with other people’s bullshit. Put yourself first and help others whenever you can.

Life is difficult.

I had to become an adult around age 9, because that's when my mom basically checked out and left me to raise my brother.
