Sometimes I wish I felt pretty

I know I'm not ugly. But sometimes I just feel average. I want to feel pretty too, like the same way I feel when I look at another girl and adore her features. My self confidence keeps fluctuating and lately it's been feeling really low.

Beauty isn't everything and crap like that but what the heck, why can't I just appreciate my own? I know I sound like a pick me posting this but my god would it light up my day if I knew someone would look at me and think I'm pretty.

Your feelings are totally valid, and I think a lot of people can relate to what you're going through. It's hard when self-confidence wavers, especially when we see beauty in others and wish we could feel the same about ourselves. But just because you're feeling low doesn't mean you're not beautiful—inside and out. Confidence isn't a straight line; it's a journey, and some days are harder than others.

It’s not about sounding like a "pick me" at all. Wanting to feel seen and appreciated is human. And the truth is, how do you know people don't look at you and think you're pretty? Even if you don’t see it in yourself all the time. Sometimes we’re our own harshest critics, and that makes it hard to see what others see in us.

Give yourself permission to appreciate your own unique beauty. Whether it's your smile, your laugh, your kindness—there's something about you that lights up the people around you. And that is so much more than "average."

Please know that 💛

@Pinklemonade100 Very sound advice. Absolutely true that we are generally our own worse critic. And everybody has positive and negative traits. No one is perfect so don't judge against perfection.

Listen, Building self-confidence takes time and practice. Surround yourself with supportive people who uplift you, and engage in activities that highlight your strengths. Reflect on your accomplishments, no matter how small, and celebrate your uniqueness. By validating your feelings and focusing on your intrinsic value, you can cultivate a more positive self-image. Trust that you are enough just as you are, and your emotions are an essential part of your human experience.
