I occasionally have some tinnitus, it's just like there is a high/mid tone coming from somewhere. It only bugs me when it happens while trying to sleep, it gives me anxiety thinking it won't go away.
I think it can be really bad for some people 🙁
@Scarfface aahhhh. Our own bodies, torturing us 😧
Scarfface · 46-50, M
@Iusedtobehereallthetime our bodies can certainly do some strange things.

Pretzel · 61-69, M
mine is a constant ringing in my ear
@Pretzel so just noise, not an actual physical feeling

I don't know, but what I do know, is that a very successful US entrepreneur (founder of a massive restaurant chain), committed suicide, when one of Covid's side symptoms, caused massive, and uncontrollable tinnitus.

It's, for me, a constant very very high pitch tone that warbles. It's a bit different in both ears and so I guess if we could See it the sinewaves would be crossing each other then syncing, then acting ragged again.
Imagine a high pitch cricket sound, the "sssssss" of a facet running in the kitchen, barely noticeable, (but you do) or like a note from an electric organ but quiet mostly.

I hadn't thought of it all day, until your question. It gets bad some days and makes itself known. S9 I have a bit of missing hearing spectrum, like cant understand every word/ syllable sometimes from certain people. Quiet talkers mainly. They have to speak above the Tinnitus level.
I think it's a chronic ringing in the ear. I've heard of it as being unbearable at time. I currently hear a very light ringing if I pay attention but I don't know if that's it or not. It doesn't really matter if its not distracting. You're having ear issues?

Hit a tone key on your old phone and imagine hearing that all the time and it gets worse if you're stressed or are in a quiet enviroment.. You do get used to it though i've had mine for about seven years and it doesn't bother me anymore.

Right now I’m almost sitting a in a completely silent room and I still hear a ringing. Sometimes it can get bad enough that I can’t sleep.
@Josh1454 sounds frustrating

@Iusedtobehereallthetime Very .... at times
ImRileyTheDog · 22-25, F
For me it’s a sounds like when a heart monitor stops but only for a few seconds and not very often
@ImRileyTheDog could it ever be described as short bursts of the eardrum vibrating
ImRileyTheDog · 22-25, F
@Iusedtobehereallthetime I’m sure yes, it’s different for everyone. Some worse than others.

The only time I know that I felt anything with tinnitus was a full feeling in my ear
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Like hearing trains in the distance for me.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@CrazyMusicLover You have it? 😶
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Elessar Rarely but it can happen. I noticed it when I was falling asleep sometime this week and hoped it would disappear overnight. Luckily it did.
Offthetop · 51-55, M
It sounds like a tv that is on but no sound from the speakers, just the high-pitched squeal.
tenente · 100+, M
millwright here. on the job installing a conveyor belt system for an amazon warehouse when strapping failed and the load hit me. concussion led to Meniere's condition (tinnitus). felt like a freight train in my ears non-stop for 3 or 4 days. high pitched and extremely disorienting. led to nausea, loss of appetite, high blood pressure. longest week of my life.
@tenente damn, glad your accident wasn't worse though
MethDozer · M
The quieter it is the louder this constent never eneding high pitched tone becomes. I have pretty extensive tinnitus
