It's, for me, a constant very very high pitch tone that warbles. It's a bit different in both ears and so I guess if we could See it the sinewaves would be crossing each other then syncing, then acting ragged again.
Imagine a high pitch cricket sound, the "sssssss" of a facet running in the kitchen, barely noticeable, (but you do) or like a note from an electric organ but quiet mostly.

I hadn't thought of it all day, until your question. It gets bad some days and makes itself known. S9 I have a bit of missing hearing spectrum, like cant understand every word/ syllable sometimes from certain people. Quiet talkers mainly. They have to speak above the Tinnitus level.
