How tf do people afford to live alone nowdays?

Even if I wanted to live by myself, there is no way I could afford it on my own. I don't know how anyone survives without a roommate or S.O. to help financially.

Our apartment manager informed us that if we stay and renew our lease, the rent will go up to $3000 per month. Um EXCUSE ME??? How tf do y'all think we're gonna magically come up with a thousand extra dollars a month????

This country really needs to put a tight leash on these predatory fucking landlords. 😤

This just happened to my younger brother. Where he is renting, a new person took on the property and informed them what their new rent would be, or they could politely gtfo.

They thankfully can cover (him and his roommate). But shit is tight now, and he never would have chose to rent there had that originally been the rent cost

@WaryWitchWandering landlords are abusing the hell out of this inflation thing. I mean yeah maybe they're insurance and whatever went up but not that much. I think they're trying to make up for the fact that for 2 years they were not allowed to evict people over non-payment of rent. Of course you know people fell two years behind on their rent and probably just skipped out one night.
