How tf do people afford to live alone nowdays?

Even if I wanted to live by myself, there is no way I could afford it on my own. I don't know how anyone survives without a roommate or S.O. to help financially.

Our apartment manager informed us that if we stay and renew our lease, the rent will go up to $3000 per month. Um EXCUSE ME??? How tf do y'all think we're gonna magically come up with a thousand extra dollars a month????

This country really needs to put a tight leash on these predatory fucking landlords. 😤

The problem with having a room mate, regardless of rent and economy, is that one ends up carrying most or all the burden while the other one freeloads.

Of course both parties have it together at first but then one of them gets fired, cannot find another job, car breaks down, they develop depression and cannot work...

SO they end up being a burden. Of course they have enough time and energy to sit around on dating sites all day and obsess over someone who lives clear in another state.

Meanwhile the other room mate is busting his or her butt trying to make ends meet.

ask me how I know all this.

Basically one is better off living alone instead of having the extra burden of a leech in their dwelling

@monellla731 One could write a book about what it is like having a room mate but the typical summery still stands - one is burdened and the other is a leech

@JimboSaturn would you say that your roommates ended up being a burden? Like useless as a tit on a goat?

@monellla731 it's not the situation anymore but it was for a while.
