Selfishness of people esp women when dating at mature age (40 and up)

As long as you’re not an unappreciative man-child who is looking for a mother/maid rather than a partner you should do alright. 🤷🏻‍♀️ After wasting away their youth on imbalanced relationships that ran them ragged, that’s what they’re sick of.

Well that is a very good interpretation. I see it just like that too. I am miserably lonely. I have no problem finding a woman. But every one of them that I encounter has exactly the same problem. I wish one would come along and prove me wrong. I have such a wonderful life to share with the right lady. Debt free... A good income... And a great personality. But the problem with me is that... I've seen it all, I've been used and abused. I learned from all of that. I can't be tricked fooled or manipulated. What I have worked to achieve through my whole life cannot be taken from me. It's just too easy for me to see right through the heartlessness and tell her to hit the road. And no I do not enjoy doing that. Loneliness is better than drama, argument, broken heart and more tears than I already shed. Do I have more feelings and emotion than most modern day women? Yep! Apparently so.

Or maybe, life can finally be about me, is a bit more accurate.
My mom did this after she divorced. It was selfish, but also self preservation. It’s ok to be “selfish” sometimes. A person needs to care about themselves too.

It seems a reasonable thing to say.

And for men it starts in their teens and doesn't seem to end as far as I've seen yet.

But not everyone is like that.
