They just use a bunch of eloquent, redundant rhetoric to sound smart...
In reality, most are dumber than a box of rocks...

I would say start hanging around people that have better vocabulary skills or better yet add to your own skills .

They are really intelligent with years of study and whole bunch of qualifications and used to using complex explanations.If you ask them to try and explain it to someone that has not studied in their area of expertise a less complicated answer should be available for you.

They use precise scientific language because specificity can be critically important when talking among themselves. They need to be reminded to speak in broader terms a layman will understand. Pretending you understand lets them get away with it, and is a disservice to yourself. Ask them to rephrase in more general terms.

Do some research and educate yourself ...

@SW-User And now you have all sorts of online sources. Another thing to do would be to ask your doctor to recommend an online website (WebMD, Mayo, Harvard, NIH/CDC) written for the layman regarding the condition in question.

@dancingtongue that too
Complex vocabulary but then the Doctor gives you a prescription and the writing looks like they are illiterate.

Ask them to explain it in simpler terms. What they are using is what we call "Technical jargon" -- really smart sounding words that a lot of people can't understand without Layman's Terms.

Leggs that was a Batman plot. They found something written so unclearly they went to an apothecary because only a pharmacist could ever read it

The good ones can explain in plain language so anyone can understand.
Same with teachers, professors and even newsmen
