Reality of Depression.

Some people have those brains that release endorphins in response to stressful situations like working out or fear. So they get to feel good about difficulty in life. My brain never feels good. Ever. I never look forward to working out like some of us. I don't like it. The only reason I do it is to take care of myself. I never feel good afterward though. Relief is the feeling I would describe after working out. Same goes to fear. I don't enjoy it like some people. Some people love being scared! It's because they get those endorphins that make it exciting! It only makes me worried or anxious. Neither of these are fun for me because I wasn't blessed with that nice brain that's rewarding. I got shitty genes. The only time my brain is content, is when I stop to think and develop philosophies to get me through this slog that's going to be my life.

[c=#BF0080] Guhguhguh! SO feel you. I have the same problem. It's like some people just lack the ability for pleasure. Anhedonia is the clinical word. It literally means: 'without pleasure'. And other people don't get that when your brain hates you, everything really feels like a chore and the simplest things are difficult. I have to makeee myself do everything lol. It sucks hardcore. Yes, you can have shiotty genes and brain chemistry. I do too. It's really hard but you just have to make the bestest of it! ๐Ÿ™ƒ I applaud you for still making yourself workout and taking care of yourself tho. It's even more admirable when it's hard and doesn't feel rewarding. After all we only get one body so gotta take care of it![/c]

I learned a new word! :) Yeah, value comes to those who bring value to themselves! So if I work hard on staying healthy and improving my situation, then maybe I can find a valuable someone! โค That's been my motivator. What helps you?

@Kuronekko: I work out to some podcasts or music but usually need noise of some kind to help distract me. I notice I perform a lot better with music though. I've heard a lot about asmr but I haven't tried it yet! Maybe I should.

@Conscience: definitely worth a try, I can recommend something if you'd like.

@Kuronekko: Sure! Lay it on me. So I can finally see what all the praise was about.

Well that's what you need to focus on then, is your philosophies. Your brain is far from being none nice, nor do you have shitty genes..

Try playing a musical instrument or listen to classical music. It will help to release endorphins.

I don't like being scared either. I have my own ways to feel good.
