I guess, but the only sport I could actually enjoy watching at all would be some form of racing, whether bicycles (Tour de France, et al.), sailboats (SailGP), or electric cars (Formula E) or legacy cars (Le Mans, Formula One, rally cars) ... I don't watch any of this regularly enough to keep up with the specific participants, I only watch once in awhile
but people knocking around or throwing balls / pucks on fields / courts / ice bores me to death at best, and outright pisses me off when taxpayers build stadiums (or halls of fame in the case of NASCAR) for wealthy team owners and players who get paid more than people who actually do something useful to society (e.g., scientists)

That is the only reason we watch sports is to cheer for our home teams
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
Yes because I don’t know much about sports teams except the hockey
Adogslife · 61-69, M
Not easily. Even if I’m not invested in the outcome. I typically end up rooting for someone.

Idk, I never have done that

It must be human nature to choose sides.
I don't think the gambling/betting industry would like it if we all became merely watchers.

@rinkydinkydoink Yeah, it's human nature to vie for dominance and sports are war by proxy

Yes. The athleticism is spectacle enough.

Yes, but only if the game is college football.

I felt the same until Indiana featured a Canadian QB ( Kurtis Rourke - now with the 49ers) the year before they won it all.
