@Matt85 Christianity negates what? Ans what have I been told?
Matt85 · 36-40, M
@BittersweetPotato I remember someone rejecting the things they'd been brought up to believe? I thought that was you? I could be wrong.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@Matt85 Yea, but I wasn't sure what is the point you were making.. Your comment felt out of context

God doesn't have a definite form. We were created in his image, which means that our traits reflect on his traits, not that he looks like us.

@MartinTheFirst Wouldn't Lds also be illegal in those countries?
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Lostpoet It'd only be fair 😌

@MartinTheFirst True, I've only talked to one other Mormon on here outside of my real life friend she's also Mormon. I invited her on here😬might have been a mistake.

I believe a Christian God was created in the image of man. Man, who felt ashamed and vulnerable on the land and so invented an origin story that ignored the bodies of humans in favor of minds. Man, who angered easily at his fellow man and sought to have the things his neighbors did and so created a vengeful and greedy god. Man, who judged and chose and alienated from the dawn of time and so created a god who was equally judgmental, wrathful and inconsistently discriminating. Man, who also sought power and land and status and so created a god of holy war and genocide.
This is not the Universe. It carries no such low an based on currents such as exclusivity, condemnation and conditional love.

Honestly, any invision of God I have would probably be something from my childhood I saw in a "Christian Bible Track," back in the 70s.
When I invision God in the Garden of Eden calling to Adam, I invision Him being 70 feet tall, only able to see His sandals and the bottom of His robe and being a Golden Light.
Now that I'm older and a little wiser, I see God in all men, all cultures, and all religions.
I'd like to say I "have a heart" for my fellow man, understanding that finding God is more about having empathy for my fellow man, and less about rules or books written in ancient languages that no longer exist.

When I was a kid, I thought Jesus was a blue alien. I had no idea what God looked like, though.
Lostpoet · M
@Belladonna You didn't grow up in a religion?
Belladonna · 41-45, F
@Lostpoet Actually, I was raised Christian/Wiccan/Celtic. It was a mess of shit, tbh.

I don't believe God is a living being with a physical presence, I think he is an abstract concept.
