Who Came Up With the First God?

Some philosophers think it was a way to keep the bully next door away from your wife and possessions. There were no cops or law enforcement so the only thing they had was a terrible after life if you didn't behave today. But there would be any religion if there were no morals or ethics natural to most mankind.
I've often wondered were in the evolution of man Adam and Eve are created.
