why does god feel distant from me, how can i stengthen my faith

[c=003BB2][i]at this time in my life i really need god, i am a roman catholic christian, and have had a difficult life...i live alone and have no support system apart from my mum and dad who are elderly...when i try to talk to god in my own words, and say prayers or think about god...god feels distant from me, like he's not there....and i know this must mean i have a weak faith...but i need gods guidence a great deal right now.

why is god not answering me it feels? what would you think?[/i][/c]
