@Blue02: that's not true either. I hear an awful lot of this balance fallacy that says all beliefs (except atheism) are equally invalid
Blue02berry · 26-30, M
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP: I'd argue that all beliefs besides agnosticism are equally invalid, since we simply don't have enough information to answer some of life's larger questions, and with that said; anyone claiming to have the answers to said questions is a fool.
ImperialAerosolKidFromEP · 51-55, M
@Blue02: that sounds like a very bold claim to the holy truth

@poetry121: You've done well. It was interesting reading. So many "Possibles, probablys and maybes"..
With all of these excuses, one thing remains. A different story has to be invented to account for all the different things found in the gospels, one that is not found in the Bible. It is generally a combination of the different stories, however unlikely.
Another interesting thing, this time regarding the virgin birth that you might like to find an answer for is Matt 1:23 , which is a quote from Isaiah 7:14. The word "virgin" is now known to be a mistranslation and should read "young woman", and Jesus was called "Jesus", not "Immanuel"...?

.... oh, and regarding Question 1, who was Joseph's father?
The answer quoted for that, tries to make out that the genealogy given by Luke is in fact the genealogy for Mary.
This is the significant part...
"of Joseph, the son of Heli, the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, the son of Melchi" all the way to " the son of Nathan, the son of David, the son of Jesse, " ... and on to "the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God."....
It says clearly that Joseph is the SON of Heli, not daughter-in-law. I don't think that King David was ever considered the daughter-in-law of Jesse...
The contradiction stands....

Sorry. I don't believe in god or witches or evil spirits, so there is not much to say.
dark548 · M
What about God in particular, I sorta believe in a higher power but i don't really know what it is.
poetry121 · 26-30, F
@dark548: Yes, I am definitely open to looking at other views in fact I love to learn about others views!

@poetry121: that's good, I'm glad you have that type of mindset.

Most people here profess to be atheists, from what I've seen. Hope any debates you have with them can be civil.
Fernie · F
what does that mean Rutterman? It's the religious who are the uncivilized...the buybull is quite uncivilized
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@Fernie: Both the religious and non-religious can be very disrespectful and rude, but it's the atheists that are the worst, generally speaking. Many of them like to tell the religious how stupid, ignorant, and bigoted they think they are. If I were a religious person, I wouldn't even talk about it here due to the abusive way religious folks are treated.

I don't believe in god
poetry121 · 26-30, F
It was just an honest question I was wondering if you dont believe in God than wgat do you believe about how we are here
Fernie · F
@poetry121: you can't think...with your mind...of anything else to believe in?
poetry121 · 26-30, F
I can think of plenty which is why I was asking.
No thanks.. had enough of that growing up.

How about Satan?

MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
Sure! I do have a few questions.
For starters, why is god going to let unbelievers burn in hell for eternity?
Isn't he meant to love the children he created?
