Which god? There's countless options.
poetry121 · 26-30, F
The one true God! God the father his son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit three in one. The trinity!
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
Pretty sure she means Bono.
Blue02berry · 26-30, M
Every religion to ever exist has argued that their god/gods is the true god.
poetry121 · 26-30, F
That is true, but it still remains that there is only one and I believe and know whole heartedly that he is the one im talking of :)
Blue02berry · 26-30, M
Every religion to ever exist has had followers that held their beliefs to be true and everyone else's to be false.
poetry121 · 26-30, F
Yes, that's definitely true!
Blue02berry · 26-30, M
So then how do you know your beliefs are true when people from every other religion to ever have existed thought the exact same thing?
onlythemessenger · 70-79, M
@poetry121:
Have you any idea how many different religions there are in the world and how many unconditionally believe their god is the one one true god. But of course yours is the right true god, yea sure every one of the hundreds of other religions must be wrong.
This god thing "my god is better than your god" come on wake up !!!!
You all act like a bunch of kids in school like "my dad is better than your dad".
poetry121 · 26-30, F
Yes, that is how some act and I do believe my God is the one and only true God however I am not acting like a child I just put this conversation out there for those who would like to participate if you don't want to you dont have to :)
onlythemessenger · 70-79, M
@poetry121: Oh I have participated by giving you my views can't you see that !
Sorry to say so but you have just confirmed acting like a child by stating your god is the only true god. How do you know he is are millions of other people wrong then in their belief that their gods are the true god. Heh you certainly opened a right can of worms here.
Good luck.
poetry121 · 26-30, F
So I am childish for having an opinion and stating it on my own post?
onlythemessenger · 70-79, M
@poetry121: No you are certainly not childish to start a post with "does anyone want to talk about god" that takes a lot of bottle given the amount of negative posts you will most definitely receive.
To say your god is better or the true god IS childlike. For example if you were born in the middle east you would be saying allah was your true god.
Why can't religions see it is all down to where you are born what you believe.
poetry121 · 26-30, F
That's not neccesarily true there are christians in the middle east. Yes,it is more common to see a muslim, but there are christians.
onlythemessenger · 70-79, M
@poetry121: Okay point taken, however how many other religions are in the middle east, hundreds I'd assume. Therefore given the fact that muslums are in the majority and christians are among the many others. It's a mathematical probability you might not be a christian if you are born there.
Any way it's late and time I was off to bed. I don't believe in anything other than life and we all came from mother earth over millions of years. Ashes to ashes dust to dust.
I wish you a happy and healthy life.
poetry121 · 26-30, F
I wish you a happy healthy life as well and I will be praying for you if you would like to talk about anything in the future I'm here.
onlythemessenger · 70-79, M
@poetry121:
Maybe we can have an in depth chat about our different views sometime, but please don't waste your time praying for me.
Take care.
poetry121 · 26-30, F
I would love too! It's not a waste :)
@Blue02: that's not actually true. There are plenty of religions that believe in multiple truths. I'll take one that believes in a single truth than those other spineless ones any day
Blue02berry · 26-30, M
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP: You're completely missing the point though.
Everyone thinks their beliefs are true but they have no evidence to back up their beliefs because there is none, so why do they continue to believe what they do instead of taking a moment to question themselves and realize that what they think might very well be delusional?
@Blue02: that's not true either. I hear an awful lot of this balance fallacy that says all beliefs (except atheism) are equally invalid
Blue02berry · 26-30, M
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP: I'd argue that all beliefs besides agnosticism are equally invalid, since we simply don't have enough information to answer some of life's larger questions, and with that said; anyone claiming to have the answers to said questions is a fool.
@Blue02: that sounds like a very bold claim to the holy truth
