@jehova And when you think about it, Jesus was not an uncommon name. There may have been a dozen of them..😷

@jehova
Your 'prophet' lived around the the sixteenth or seventeenth century. Nobody wrote the Bible except God Himself starting with Genesis through Revelation. He gives testimony to this in several places in His Word.
One place is in 2Timothy: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” – 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Another place is found in 2 Peter: 16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” 18 And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. 19 [i]And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private [j]interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but [k]holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:16-21
The bible is a collection of letters about someone (Jesus). Therefore the bible is literally hearsay. The message of Zoroaster?

Truth causes belief. They go hand in hand.

Truth. But NOT your truth. I have no love whatsoever for the abrahamic religions.

Both are pivotal for followers of God though. There are plain truths in the words of God but not all truths are known or revealed to us. In which case belief would be responding to what isn't known with what you do know.
And being the imperfect species that we are, we can sometimes live contrary to the truth we've learned thanks to pride, resentment, greed, pain, etc. for which strengthening belief or faith is important to keep us humble followers instead of giving in to our baser instincts.
I've always understood belief and faith to be how you choose to live with the truth you know rather than an opinion that opposes truth. It's more like what supplements truth, I guess you could say.
Ex. I don't know why God has allowed such a terrible thing to happen, but because I have witnessed his love and mercy in my life and those around me, I know there is a reason and that he will see justice through.

Truth can be tested. In fact, truth demands to be tested.
The one thing we all share in common is being children of The Enlightenment, which is still occurring. Now we have the right to demand strong evidence before committing to believing. There’s no evidence for anything that can be considered as god(s).
The scientific argument against the existence of God will be a modified form of the lack-of-evidence argument:
1. Hypothesize a God who plays an important role in the universe.
2. Assume that God has specific attributes that should provide objective evidence for his existence.
3. Look for such evidence with an open mind.
4. If such evidence is found, conclude that God may exist.
5. If such objective evidence is not found, conclude beyond
a reasonable doubt that a God with these properties does not exist.

@GodSpeed63 One truth is the god of the Old Testament condones slavery. Thus, you also think owning another human as property, that can sold or inherited, is totally acceptable.

Leviticus 25:44–46 “As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are round about you. You may also buy from among the strangers [NRSV: “aliens”] who sojourn with you and their families that are with you, who have been born in your land; and they may be your property. You may bequeath them to your sons after you, to inherit as a possession for ever; you may make slaves of them, but over your brethren the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another, with harshness.” RSV
Is this Bible truth or lie? Jesus also had no problem with allowing slavery.
That slave who knew what his master wanted, but did not prepare himself or do what was wanted, will receive a severe beating. But the one who did not know and did what deserved a beating will receive a light beating. (Luke 12:47–48)

I'm not sure I'm getting you right.
Are you saying that you would have to form your knowing of the truth tosle it fot your idea of God?

Truth is subjective. What I believe is what becomes my truth. And my truths are fluid; they are true in the moment.

There is only absolute truth and it doesn't belong to you or me but God alone.
