Why I'm not a fan of organized religion

Following a religion requires having holidays, having certain rites of passage and observing certain rules & rituals about things. Often also attending some form of mass religious ceremony.

I like my everyday routine, and hate the change and bustle holidays bring. I don't like that holidays require either forced socialization, gift giving, lots of cooking and clean up, decorating, etc. I can't really say as an adult that there is any holiday I enjoy. I don't even enjoy celebrating birthdays.

Because of my disabilities jumping through all the various hoops for rites of passage is just too difficult and annoying for me. I don't enjoy attending religious ceremony because to me it takes away from my individual connection with the divine and makes it more impersonal, with certain rehearsed chants or readings or songs. Also due to my disabilities it is sometimes hard for me to regularly attend such things. They are also frequently boring.

In addition I do not always like the rules and rituals one has to adhere to given a certain religion because they do not always make sense to me or seem stifling or impossible to follow given my disabilities.

I prefer to go my own way when it comes to spirituality due to these things.

They can get really out of hand, also what is and isn't a sin is really nebulous. I've heard people argue imagination, meditation, etc are satanic. Like what am I supposed to do, stare at the wall and pray (hope it's the right God) until I die?

I won't argue with you, but the traditions of some religions give life meaning and joy.
I'm not superstitious at all. The only time religion bothers me is when they but their nose into politics and laws. And when they take advantage of people.

I wrote my own. . . For the reasons you mention also bc organized religion is about control. Is plagarized. And is obviously hearsay.
