I was thinking about Dolly sheep

If you can clone a sheep, can you clone a person? And then I wonder this, from a spiritual angle:

A spirit can't be cloned, I reckon. so who inhabits the clone's body?

I believe in spirits, even of animals, so how can you justify that? Can you?

You CAN clone a human, but there's laws prohibiting it because most people accept that it would be a step too far.

@HootyTheNightOwl i wanna clone 😏 assuming they have the same memories and age as me xD
@pride49 They're clones, not replicas.

It comes from the place all spirits come from. A clone is just a baby after all

Same birthday year as me 😱

@DeluxedEdition woah, same here. About a month after

Are you being real, or joking?
calicuz · 56-60, M
@caPnAhab

Well, referring to the paranormal, scripture does tell us that "saints move about that can not be seen."
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@calicuz yep, I think I recall that. I've read all through the Bible once. But still, I'm no scholar

@caPnAhab

Nor am I, so I focus on that which is relevant in today's world.
perhaps interestingly, thet process only works for female mammals.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@stound I wonder what would exclude any males in the process
@caPnAhab it's the egg; they can extract an X chromosome from another egg and inject it into an egg, but you have to have the egg as a starting point.

The answer is you can and it has almost certainly been done. Secretly to dodge the ethics involved..😷

The first cloned human has probably already been done, just not openly publicized.

Just as a newborn baby receives a soul, so would a newborn clone. Do identical twins have trouble receiving souls? Or identical triplets? Whether man conceives, or a sheep conceives naturally or through the borrowing of Gods building blocks and the intervention of man, the result is still worthy of a soul in God's eyes.
Hmmm.
Interesting hypothesis.

If it were a cloned human, i truly doubt itd be 'born' without a soul or consciousness.

Maybe God will implant one from his 'draw pile' ?

I mean, it says in the bible, ( if you believe in that ), that there are only so many souls to go round , so evidently even God recycles.

Theres even the theory that the brain is just a reciever, and that our consciousness comes from somewhere else and is tramsmitted to us.

And if we are worried about AI developing a conscious, then i dont see why an engineered organic being cant.

After all, the body is just a meat sack for our consciousness....so...... what's the difference?

There is also the conspiracy theory that we we were an engineered species eons ago...amd we seem to have one.

Also, rememeber some twins are identical genetically, and they have their own identity.

So i cant see why not.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@OogieBoogie I always assumed our spirit, if it had an appearance would like just like ourselves. And as individual as ourselves, even identical twins are not 100% identical.

If all spirits are an amorphous blob then I can see how it fits into a clone
@caPnAhab i don't think spirits have an appearance like us, from what i understand.

Its hard. Some relgions just say it floats out and you have an afterlife in one place Others say that to get that afterlife you have to 'evolve' your spirit till it loses all ego. Which by then it'd have no identity connected to the physical world.
And plus, its just an energy force or something , a 'light' being so to speak, so maybe our spirit or consciousness is just some fuzzy glow globe 😂

Identical twins are clones. They all have different personalities though. The more they diverge in time the more their different experiences shape them differently.
I remember the entire uber extremist xtian community freaking out over Dolly.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@NativePortlander1970 yeah, I can imagine why 😅
