If you have had a spiritual awakening

How did it change you. And your life. It enabled me in many ways
Mine started about 11 years ago after I lost my mum.. it’s been a slow process but I am more awake in the sense that I notice the world around me more.. mine helped me come off medication I was on for many years it helped me to become more aware of my own mental health. I become more compassionate towards others and material things didn’t impress me and I become a nature lover so in awe of the beauty around me. I meditate and I can speak to spirit now and it’s so a beautiful gift! 🙏🏻

I had questions. Then I took a university level philosophy class taught by a monk. He pointed out the obvious, that religion is BS used for social control.

Freedom from fear, guilt etc!

@Crazywaterspring we should do what works best for us the individual

It helped me to have hope in my life which I have found critical.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@Pfuzylogic without hope there can be despair. Hard to accomplish anything that way

Jeremiah speaks to that when Babylon took Israel over.

I seek to be more "awake" every day. I have no interest in the past except recognising how its actual meaning and significance morphs according to the present moment.
I had a reality awakening. It took decades but I truly enjoy living in an evidence based world.

Ups and downs. I had enemies right off the bat and now my mind is all fucked up.

It ended up bringing me closer to Jesus Christ in the end.
I had a false spiritual awakening in 2001, at which time I thought I had been touched by God. It turns out my cousin was just an unconscious energy worker, and I was feeling the influx of his excitement and joy as he talked me through the sinner's prayer.

However, that false awakening eventually led to my real awakening. If that makes any kind of sense.

@LordShadowfire and how has it changed you
@Axeroberts Chop wood, carry water, as they say. Once I was fully awakened, I realized that I was here to experience what it was like to live the life I'm in, so that's what I'm doing. Experiencing.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@LordShadowfire that's right I think. Have as many experiences as we can
I saw my neighbour's four year old daughter in their garden, who had died three weeks previously. I never told them as I thought they would find it upsetting and consider me nuts. I know what I saw, It just left me with the understanding that life continues on. That was my one and only time, but I wonder if she ever appeared to her mum and dad, but I would never ask.
