Sooooo... Tarot reading is something that's real and will let you know things needed to be known to the wondering minds of the unknown?

Musicman · 61-69, M
Tarot cards are of the devil. Repent immediately and stay away from them.
@Musicman Tarot cards are not "witchcraft, magic, and seers." They're used as a psychological tool. Does the Bible also forbid seeing a counselor?

You clearly don't understand them. I guess you know better than the Christian families that originally commissioned them. In fact, one objection to them is that they're full of Christian symbolism, which can be off-putting to people who aren't Christian.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom I understand them perfectly. They fall under fortune telling or see'ers as they were called in the day. It is of the devil, not God.
@Musicman That's not what they are, but you're entitled to your misinformed opinion.

The only difference between prophecy and divination is whether you personally approve of the person doing it or not.
Soooooo… is a sucker born every minute and two to take them.
@LordShadowfire I don’t have the burden of proof. Centuries of scientific advancement and learning have not diminished the popularity of occult guidance systems such as the tarot, Ouija boards, astrology, I Ching, palmistry, iridology, reflexology, ink blots, graphology, enneagrams, crystal balls, tea leaves, and the like.
@LeopoldBloom It’s called sympathetic magic.

@BlueSkyKing I know what sympathetic magic is, I read Frasier's The Golden Bough. This isn't Enlightenment France. People use Tarot cards today to explore mental states. It's a form of psychotherapy.

I sold my soul playing with that pack of lies, so addictive seducing spirits until you don't want them anymore it's hell and torment...Then you need Jesus Christ!!!!!
Carazaa · F
@Disgustedman Many worship demons.
saintsong · 41-45, F
@Disgustedman Actually yes the Bible does Hebrews 13 says....13 Let brotherly love continue.

2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

How could you say that the Bible does not say it when it clearly does?
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
@saintsong I'm not talking angels I'm talking demons....
Thodsis · 51-55, M
Tarot cards are a gateway drug.

Stay away from them.

The next step is ouija boards, astrology and yoga pants....
@Thodsis I love seeing women in yoga pants.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Thodsis omg. I hadn’t thought of the yoga pants. Everywhere, at Starbucks and school and church…. Lulu lemon is the devil!
Graylight · 51-55, F
Tarot cards, while not "evil" no routine condemnations of tarot were found during its early history (Dummett, M. A. E; Mann, S. (1980). The game of Tarot: From Ferrara to Salt Lake City. ISBN 9780715610145.)

But they are just a riff on the tradition deck of cards; in fact the tarot is responsible for the suited cards in our modern decks. Any meaning in them has been imbued by would-be fortune tellers over the centuries.
I have tried an AI tarot card interpretation app, its unbelievable correct everytime and gives so much detail
@Whatawebsite Is it some secret site or do we risk being credulous by accepting your say-so?
AJ023 · M
Well it is supposed to be of the occult but let's dabble and see what happens the demon might come and snatch our soul
Budwick · 70-79, M
Jadeah - I don't even have Tarot cards but believe you might be phishing for customers.
JadeahBabii · 31-35, F
You think so.... Tobasco why you think it's bs
@JadeahBabii I won't speak for someone else, but in my case, I don't have enough reason to believe in them. If there was anything to them, I'd have to wonder why they aren't used more commonly.
@JadeahBabii Correct.
JadeahBabii · 31-35, F
@SomeMichGuy ok thank you, but how would you know for a fact tho
@JadeahBabii ...if Tarot cards, Zodiak/astrology, Ouija boards, palmistry, reading entrails, watching the flights of birds, etc., were real, it would be obvious.

But you can believe what you will.
fakable · T
depends on who's asking and how
Jake966 · 56-60, M
It’s all fake
Tobasco · 31-35, F
Nah it's bs
As children, we make a wish when we blow birthday candles out, we believe a man will deliver us gifts on Christmas Day, we believe a bunny gives us chocolate eggs at Easter. We can believe in a pictured card telling us our fortune.
LordShadowfire · 100+, M
@V00doo I'm here to remind everybody that tarot cards actually have nothing supernatural guiding them. It's just the subconscious of the person shuffling the cards.
One can only dream.
LordShadowfire · 100+, M
Well, yes and no. The one moving part that makes it all work is you. You see, on some level, you already know the answer you're looking for, and randomly shuffling the cards gives your subconscious the chance to arrange them in such a way that it tells you a story.

@Emosaur I'm not arguing that part. There's nothing special or supernatural about the cards. All you're doing is giving your own conscious mind clues as to what will happen. The key ingredient is actually the person shuffling. The cards can't tell you anything you don't already know.
@LordShadowfire You’re assuming that the person shuffling the deck has knowledge of the alleged symbolism and the various spreads. Along with being able to subconsciously "see" the cards. How much shuffling gets the results? If a card or two was removed from the deck, would the subconscious notice? Too many things are not rational. That subconscious bit would be great for a poker game.
