Sooooo... Tarot reading is something that's real and will let you know things needed to be known to the wondering minds of the unknown?

Tarot cards are of the devil. Repent immediately and stay away from them.
@Musicman The first decks were painted for noble families in Renaissance Italy for use in card games. These people were devout Christians. So with all due respect, you’re full of it.

@LeopoldBloom Nope! I am sorry you feel that way. It is in the bible.
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
@Musicman you're right it's in the Bible and we are warned to stay away from such people. In fact one of the kings of the Bible who I believe it was Samuel went to a person who could speak with the Dead and the person that he rose up was pissed that he was awakened.

So there were such people in the Bible who could do that but they are not good they are to be shunned.

@Disgustedman Exactly!

@Disgustedman Actually it was King Saul who tried to contact Samuel from the dead and because he did that he lost his kingdom and killed himself
@Musicman Tarot cards are not in the Bible. The first mention of them is in a list of games from the 14th century. We have similar lists from the Roman period, so if Tarot cards had existed when the Bible was written, we'd know about it. The oldest surviving cards are the Visconti-Sforza decks, painted for the Italian nobility in the 15th century. The Viscontis and the Sfrorzas were devout Catholics, so they may have differed with you that the Bible forbade them. @BritishFailedAesthetic

@saintsong oh well thank you for the correction I appreciate it I knew it was one of them started with an S.

@LeopoldBloom Your small technicality is correct, but the Bible definitely talks about witchcraft, magic and seeres. Tarot cards do fall under that category.
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
@Musicman one thing I don't really understand is like when people have the ability to find water sources. Like water witching or using that forked Branch method or whatever where that's good that you find water why would it be looked upon as evil?

None of the people who use it to mutter incantations or pray to Satan or any evil God so it's kind of like an interesting ability people have so I thought it was rather curious why they would say oh that's evil......

@Disgustedman I don't understand divining rods. I am not sure where that stands.
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
@Musicman yeah it's really cool to see there's a guy on YouTube who runs a septic company. And he saw one at work and he said damned if this guy didn't exactly locate a water spring so he's amazed by it and stunned at this such things.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Disgustedman I have heard of people using them, but I have never actually seen one used that worked.
@Musicman Tarot cards are not "witchcraft, magic, and seers." They're used as a psychological tool. Does the Bible also forbid seeing a counselor?

You clearly don't understand them. I guess you know better than the Christian families that originally commissioned them. In fact, one objection to them is that they're full of Christian symbolism, which can be off-putting to people who aren't Christian.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@LeopoldBloom I understand them perfectly. They fall under fortune telling or see'ers as they were called in the day. It is of the devil, not God.
@Musicman That's not what they are, but you're entitled to your misinformed opinion.

The only difference between prophecy and divination is whether you personally approve of the person doing it or not.
