Religion throughout History

With or without religion good people will do good and evil people will commit evil. But for good people to commit evil , that takes religion.,

Nice throw away line for the political satirist comedians. But in reality, it takes religion for people PROFESSING to be good to commit evil. There are good people who truly try to live by the tenets of their religion rather than spending all their time trying to proselytize and force their views on everyone else.
@dancingtongue it should be clear enough that I don’t condemn individuals and their beliefs.

It’s the Christian organizations that force their views on others via their radicalized representatives,

@Ryderbike Too many of them, but not all of them. You are still generalizing.
@dancingtongue have they managed to pass forced birthing laws or not? Was Roe overturned?

I agree with you 100%. I don't want too hear about religious beliefs .
See religious beliefs don't make a person a good person . It's all there actions , no matter what religion you believe in .
A person said to me clearly about religion and peoples beiefs about religion and i totally agree " All rivers lead to the sea ".
The best description i heard of about a person trying to find God

I don’t agree. But sometimes religion helps bad people justify bad behavior, which is an appalling misunderstanding of religion.

In fact it was evangelical Christians who were the first to oppose slavery. Just read some history. Get your facts straight. @Ryderbike
@Mathers Your evangelical Christians burned witches in Salem.

Wrong @Ryderbike
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Graylight are you unaware of the inquisitions and torture ?
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Ryderbike For every example, there’s acounter-example. What of the numerous medical institutions and universities founded by religious groups?
@Graylight that doesn’t change history at all. And what happens at those so-called religious universities? Usually indoctrination. I think you need to go to Europe and visit a religious torture museum to understand the extent of the atrocities committed in the name of religion. Did you know there’s such a thing as a torture museum?
Even your own nation burned witches in the name of religion and the preacher stood on the pulpit using the Bible to justify enslaving black people. Using the Bible to justify genocide against the first nation people.

Good line for non-thinkers.
