The book of Genesis defies all scientific logic. The Book of Revelation does as well. The Bible was never meant to be taken literally.
Jesus took us literally, when He died on the cross to save us from our sins.

The Bible says nothing is impossible with God. Therefore, humans can't put limitations on God. He is a God of Miracles. He saved my daughter from dying, when the doctors gave up and said she'd be dead by next week and her organs were already shutting down. She was nothing but skin and bone.

In the last days, yes prophecy shall be fulfilled and stars shall fall from Heaven just as prophesied.

I don't like that we argued this morning. Truce? 馃尮馃

SemmelweisReflex, Are you saying that you, yourself, can't tell directions at night by looking at the moon?

@Diotrephes
Are you saying that you, yourself, can't tell directions at night by looking at the moon?
Well, no. Not as such. I can't tell where my car is in the parking lot, with or without the moon or GPS. Horrible sense of directions. I'm saying that the primitive people weren't as superstitious and ignorant as some imagine, or project upon them.
Diotrephes70-79, M
@AkioTsukino Well, Moses and his crowd weren't the smartest gang since they were lost for 40 years.
hippyjoe195561-69, M
@Diotrephes Moses led the Israelites directly to the promised land but the people were to scared to go in so they all died in the wilderness instead. The Bible and you are complete strangers.
AkioTsukinoM
The stars, in this case, represents Satan and his angels. Stars are used symbolically throughout scripture often for important figures. Joseph's brothers, for example. (Genesis 37:9-10)

@SpiritualMan
Oh ya good point, thanks, that all the more makes the point. I understand the questions about meteorites or comets until you understand that angel = star metaphor in the bible, once you understand that it all makes sense.
It's difficult to tell - is that sarcasm? They can be metaphors in the Bible for people, for angels, etc. Critics of the Bible often look at the celestial phenomenon in the book of Revelation, for example, as being the product of superstitious fear and ignorance. But if they knew the Bible they would easily discern that the same exact language was used in Hebrew prophecy. A metaphoric application for political and social upheaval. Jerusalem was destroyed, what followed was a new kingdom, new people, new environment. So the celestial phenomenon in Revelation is just on a global scale. All governments destroyed, all evil people destroyed, new heavens and earth. New kingdom (God's), new people, (the meek shall inherit the earth), new environment. No sin, Satan, wicked, death, disease etc.

Well believe it or not the end of the world as we know it is exactly what this is all about. The God who created it is the same God who can destroy it. Seems to make sense.

Meteorites are called what in our modern western society???

[big]FALLING STARS[/big]

Why do you even bring up this stupid topic? I have been a constant member on Christian forums for over 20 years and i am yet to find ANY Christians on them that believe that actual stars will be falling from the sky..

Stop making issues when there is no issue to start with..

@SpiritualMan
@Adstar People saw Jesus in the clouds on a white horse with heavenly armies from 66 to 70 AD.
You [c=7700B2]Choose[/c] to believe people saw jesus in the clouds on a white hourse with heavenly armies from 66 to 70 AD..

I choose to make my foundation the actual prophecies in the Bible on the matter..

Like 1/3rd of all the plants /grass /trees in the world where not burnt up on earth during 70'ad.. 1/3rd of the sea's of the world did not become as blood in 70AD and people did not die in great numbers because they where forced to drink waters contaminated by the Wormwood impact in 70AD.. So many thing have to be forced into symbolism when you believe in a 70AD fulfillment of the prophecies in the book of Revelation..

@SpiritualMan In reality, the ancient emperors' diplomats were called angels in some cultures. The name stuck because the emperors were considered Gods. That is why some of the God figures in the Old Testament are nuttier than fruit cakes. The God figure was just a lunatic human.

Are you serious about learning of salvation or are you trying to mock the Christian Faith?
Diotrephes70-79, M
@ShadowWolf What makes it bad is that ideas like stars falling to the Earth are attributed to the "son of God." That is because the writers were ignorant about scientific reality. They thought that stars were tiny points of light that were the same as meteorites. Anything expressed in the Bible outside of human nature is and one or two other things is the ramblings of ignorant ancient people and shouldn't be taken seriously.
PfuzylogicM
@Diotrephes
You don鈥檛 mind be insulting.
AkioTsukinoM
@Diotrephes Actually they knew more about stars than you do. They could find their way through the desert without GPS. People who say things like that about the writers of the Bible are the ignorant ones.

Depends on what they have been putting in that Jesus juice. I guess.

@SpiritualMan Space travel in fiction is metaphor. The Bible is fiction thus metaphor.
Angels were made in the image of God. Many things in the bible ARE literally true, but they ALSO convey higher level spiritual truths, but spiritual TRUTHS, NOT spiritual MYTHOLOGY....
Truth can be tested. Truth demands to be tested. Compile a list of validated literally truths.
