How does the creationist accept that a DNA test shows they're related to their father but reject that a DNA test shows they're related to a chimp? [Spirituality & Religion]

DNA lets you see that you're related to your parents, somewhat more distantly related to your grandparents and what your racial heritage is.
DNA lets us see that a tiger is closely related to a lion or a mouse is closely related to a beaver.....so why can't it show that you're closely related to a chimpanzee?

The real question to the creationist: At what point can you claim that DNA is no longer showing relatedness but a common designer and how do you justify that claim?

I thought we went over this😂, we think that there is no proof that we came from chimps. People just made that up to be cuter than Christians!

@Carazaa
no proof that we came from chimps

That’s because we didn’t come from chimps.
DocSavage · M
@Carazaa
DNA is considered pretty conclusive evidence that we share a common ancestor with them. Not that it matters to you.
Carazaa · F
@DocSavage I know I trust DNA!
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Carazaa Then you know that we didn’t come from chimps, which is why there’s no proof that we come from chimps... so why do you even mention such a nonsense.

As DocSavage said, we share a common ancestor with chimps
@Carazaa

I know you don't think that there is a shared heritage between chimps and humans.
But that's simply to position that this question challenges you to reconcile with the facts.

I know I trust DNA!

So at what point can you claim that DNA is no longer showing relatedness but a common designer and how do you justify that claim?
Carazaa · F
@Pikachu Similar does not mean related to! I look a lot more similar to a neigbor whom I am not related to than my sister who has the same Mom and Dad as I.
Carazaa · F
@newjaninev2 Yeah, not from chimps but from fish 😂. And can you answer where did the earth, the moon, and the sun come from? Please explain it to all of us!😂😂😂
DocSavage · M
@Carazaa
with DNA, it actually does. In case you haven’t realized , scientists are trained to know the differences. Check for genetic markers, that kind of thing. You said you trust DNA, but your trust fades away when the evidence points to something you personally don’t like. Reality doesn’t work that way. Science works, but it’s not customized to individual beliefs.
Are you really so arrogant that you think you can simply deny the results of real science, when you have no clue how it works ? You can’t have it both ways. And the rest of us aren’t interested in your fantasy world.

@Carazaa
Perhaps you heard the phrase "We are Star Dust' planets and moons were formed from the dust of super novas, exploding stars. pulled together by gravity.it can be and has been observed using telescopes.
@Carazaa
Similar does not mean related to! I look a lot more similar to a neigbor whom I am not related to than my sister who has the same Mom and Dad as I.

That's exactly what it means, silly😂
That DNA similarity does mean you're related to your neighbour as a part of human "kind".
It shows that you're more closely related to your mother than you are to your grandmother.
It shows that you're more closely related to other people of Scandinavian descent than you are to people of of Asian descent.

So again, at what point can you say DNA is no longer showing relatedness and how do you justify that cut off point?

You can use DNA to show that you're related to your mother, your countrymen and your racial ancestors...so why do you trust it that far and then arbitrarily decide "this far and no further"?
Carazaa · F
@DocSavage Great Are you sure? And how did that happen?
Carazaa · F
@Pikachu Nonsense. Just because DNA have 99% similarity does NOT prove they are related. I have blue eyes and blond hair and my neighbor has blue eyes and blond hair but we are not related! IT IS A JUMP TO SAY DNA SIMILARITES MEAN THEY ARE RELATED!

Why? because God could have made them 99.9% similar!

How do you know God did not do that?
@Carazaa

Let's take this in baby steps.

Do you accept that a DNA test shows whether you're related to your parents?
DocSavage · M
@Carazaa
How did what happen ? Stars going super nova ? You are aware there are other stars and planets right ? You are aware there are telescopes right ? You’ve heard of gravity right ? You put them together and things happen.
DocSavage · M
@Pikachu
Maybe not. Just like the chimps. The don’t like to admit being related.
@DocSavage

lol yes some of us would rather not be related to our parents.
Carazaa · F
@Pikachu Ah, well in a word, no. I know my parents because we have done a family tree going back to 1400 with pictures. Everyone is scandinavian for 0ver 1000 years in the same region. Except my grandmas family were French Wallones and elite (Napolians family according to her 😂) She was not delusional, Grandmas and Grandpas chairs and tables were chippendale $30,000 chairs. I was very close to my Grandma and she has discussed her history. She looks very french and I beliecve her. My DNA test does not confirm what I know to be true. They are wrong!
@Carazaa

Do you think that DNA tests are in general reliable ways of determining which people you're related to?
If yes, then i'm not sure what that anecdote was in aid of.
If no then i'm not sure what you meant by "I trust DNA!".
@Carazaa Go back far enough and we’re all from Africa, distant cousin.
Carazaa · F
@Pikachu
I trust that DNA can be useful sometimes, but not all the time. I am careful to not be a black and white thinker. We can't jump to conclusions, just because DNA samples are similar they are related, no. I trust DNA if it proves exactness.

Case in point, if persons DNA is the exact DNA as in wet blood in a house that someone was murdered. Yes we can reasonably suspect who the blood is from. Because I trust that God made the DNA very distinct. We all have a different DNA, its Like fingerprints.

But if my fingerprint is 99% similar to a chimp we are still NOT related. I am not convinced.

Do you believe you are related to someone with similar fingerprints?
@Carazaa

Well your DNA isn't exactly the same as your parents. Do you trust a DNA test to show that you're related to your parents?
Carazaa · F
@BlueSkyKing Go back to the Bible and God made Adam and EVE in the Garden of Eden, in Africa.
Carazaa · F
@Pikachu Please answer my question.
kodiac · 22-25, M
@Carazaa Similar and common mean 2 totally different things .Common means distant but related.
@Carazaa

Ok, then you answer mine.

Do i believe i'm related to someone with similar finger prints?
Maybe, if the DNA shows it, then yes.
Because DNA is NOT like finger prints. DNA is far more reliable than fingerprints. That's why DNA became the touchstone in forensic investigation.

Please answer my question.
Your DNA isn't exactly the same as your parents. Do you trust a DNA test to show that you're related to your parents?
Do you believe a DNA test will show that you're more closely related to people of Scandinavian descent than people of African descent?
