As i read the Bible, i have a hard time buying the narrative that God is all knowing. He just gets way too angry. [Spirituality & Religion]

Thinking specifically of Isaiah and Jeremiah, God is so, so pissed that the people are worshipping idols and not obeying the law of their ancestors.
Like my anger will burn like a fire forever, i will have your enemies strip and rape you, your bodies will be like piles of manure on the ground etc etc.

Would someone really be (or reasonably be) that angry about something they knew from the very beginning was coming?
Seems crazy to me.

@RedBaron One needs to know it in order to refute christian BS from a position of knowledge. Note how creationists frequently make fools of themselves by attempting to argue against The Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection (or any scientific theory for that matter) from a position of ignorance.

@Sharon Alternatively, one can simply ignore the Christian BS. Knowing about and trying to refute it isn't changing anyone's mind or making the BS go away. There are more interesting things to read.

You're right as regards those spreading the BS but I'm more concerned with alerting those who might be deceived by it. Simply ignoring it leaves vulnerable people open to exploitation - as history shows.

I disagree. I know I've saved some people from being deceived, they've told me themselves. If I were really wasting my time, christian propagandists wouldn't be so worried about what other Atheists and I say. The fact is, they'll try every trick in the book, including insults and, in some cases, physical violence, to shut us up. They can't have much faith in their "almighty god" to do it. :)

You are not a woman first of all....an if you are not Gay or about to have an abortion...you certainly do NOT get what they go through...we cannot ignore the damage that's done to our lives because of the ignorant bags of hatred that attack in any way they can, We must not "ignore" evil hatred.

@fernie2 Your remark indicates that you misread my comment and judged me based on your misunderstanding. I said they can ignore Christian theological propaganda. Nowhere and never did I say that anyone can or should ignore hatred or bigotry of any kind. You would do well to think more and not rush to judgement.

@RedBaron I had several friends when I was younger...all with the tattooed numbers on their arms. I am very aware of anything holocaust...but, we are here and now....they WOULD gas us all, Gays, people of any color but WHITE if they could...genocide is their goal and unlike the poor German people...we are not so trusting of leaders
