Comedians did, but people who didn't have enough sense of humor just took him too seriously.

Man created God.
JollyRoger · 70-79, M
@Sharon You are a bravely arrogant woman! Human-kind's knowledge is vastly over-rated when compared to the infinity of the universe. If science can explain our being why can't it explain how we came to be: The world is here, all plants and animals live in it, why is it so diverse yet so bio-dependent? All of that happened from microbes who 'decided' that they would part ways into different environments and develop differently? As though they had thought and planning skills. I suggest you leave your mind open to the concept of God (Good)and marvel at the unknown that surrounds you. Marvelling is the gift that God gives us - enjoyment of His world! Until you can say for CERTAIN, "There is no God.", don't presume that we are all fools and you are not.

@JollyRoger
Human-kind's knowledge is vastly over-rated when compared to the infinity of the universe.
Some things aren't know but there's no point hypothesizing a god to explain the unknown. All that does is add another unknown - namely the origin of that god.
All of that happened from microbes who 'decided' that they would part ways into different environments and develop differently?
Why would anything need to decide? Anything that didn't develop to survive in a given environment simply wouldn't. No decision necessary.
Marvelling is the gift that God gives us - enjoyment of His world!
Pot meet kettle. That's a very arrogant statement from one who calls me arrogant. Why believe it's your particular god anyway? There are thousands to choose from.

Of course there are some gods who are created by man. We see it all the time even in our modern society. We see football players and popstars and filmstars whose images people put up on their walls of worship. Even atheism might said to be a false god with its illogical follies. But of course they are no substitute for the true God who created us in his image and the worship of these false gods just brings us down from the image of the true God
Sharon · F
@Speedyman Unlike you, I don't have to resort to childish insults.

Humans created gods, as we do with all fantasy creatures.

God created man, and to those who love him and believe him, he still does great and mighty works
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@JollyRoger it does no good to speak truth to those who don't believe truth exists, and it does no good to show light to the blind

They ignore the truth and go on disparaging, correcting the ignorant only works if the ignorant wish to be rid of ignorance
JollyRoger · 70-79, M
@th3r0n So... you're not an evangelist? I think he could apologize for the tone of his message but I don't really think he's as 'hard rock' close minded as you do.
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@JollyRoger would you persuade him then?

I can teach those who want to learn, and I do, but to those who wish to argue, I find no place to argue, only to educate

If I was trying to figure out by science it would be one thing, God does miracles for me, just as his word says when I have faith and no doubts he does it, without fail, though literally no doubt is a bigger thing than people realize

I've seen proof personally that shows beyond doubt that God is real and true, debating science when one has made up their mind doesn't seem to ever help

It's like asking you to prove that you exist while ignoring the obvious, it becomes impossible
God probably created us, then we made him something he isn’t.
Gonna have to go with man created god.
It's what people do when they want answers or a sense of importance, security and purpose.
SW-User
I favour the second in regards to what established churches purport to be their sole understanding of "the truth".

I favour the former in terms of the interconnectedness of everything through some power I doubt we'll ever understand.
JollyRoger · 70-79, M
@SW-User So, you think man created God but you believe in "God" (being a name for a higher power) - You shouldn't fear naming your belief! How would you like it if we were friends and I kept calling you 'Hey, Dude' all the time?
SW-User
@JollyRoger I don't and won't call it god as it isn't God as portrayed to me by the established religions I've been exposed to.
JollyRoger · 70-79, M
@SW-User BUT: It's evident that you have a 'belief' that there was a creator.... That creator should be able to carry a name so you can refer to it easily.... "Herbie" comes to mind if you'd like it to be a paternal figure.

The eldritch gods existed since strange aeons before time...we are simply the result of one of their experiments whose purpose is unfathomable to us mere mortals...in order to comfort ourselves from the idea of being being nothing more than insignificant creations of such cosmic abominations, we created the idea of anthropomorphic gods with comprehensible ideas of morality and human impulses, which for them who are more ancient than the universe itself, mean nothing...and they would have ignored our insignificant existences...but back in 1982, we created our own abominations of nature, trying to be their equals...now they are on their way back, to consume and destroy our minds and sanity...such sad outcome for us is to be expected when a man made horror as the pac man cartoon was allowed to exist...

God created man 👍️
scooogy · 31-35, MVIP
The anthropic principle says that if we want to know if there's a higher might out there, than the answer is that at least something must have created everything necessary for us to ask that question.
Man created god.

The Goddess created all.

All things come from a women.
LondonCowboy · 51-55, M
@Elandra77 Very true 🌹
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
God created Man for the purpose of each different life and to understand Jesus Christ to be accepted by Jesus's Grace of Sacrifice for our sins and to restore our relationship with God.

also, There's unclean/Demon spirits that will try to convince people to make up many Gods and even worship Idols that haves no Authority.

@FreestyleArt according to man made concept, God is a supreme character that is controls everything, universal judge and is responsible for creation of the universe to some

Your parents made him up, in their own image, a little more strongly on the father. Why do you think religion is so much in favor of parents, especially the father?

GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
God created us in His image and likeness. No, He did not create sin in us.
JollyRoger · 70-79, M
@GodSpeed63 Don't get me wrong - I do believe in God. BUT:
As the book of Genesis was 'written' many thousand years after Adam's account of what happened in the Garden of Eden (Notice... Nobody asked Eve for her account) - all we have is a verbal account of what Adam reported to his kids - schools were pretty scarce back then - and the written word didn't come about for several thousand years after Adam died. So, there is room for interpretation. The next point is that in Genesis, God seems to 'drop in' on Adam and Eve to see how they are doing in managing His garden. At no time do we get the impression that God sat Adam down and said things like, "Adam, see that dirt over there? That's what you are made of." "And by the way, while you were sleeping, I took one of your ribs and made a companion for you." So.... where did this 'stuff' come from? Where does Santa Claus come from? It comes from people telling a tale over and over and embellishing it to impress their audience.
By the way... didn't I hear that just VERY recently they discredited veracity of the Dead Sea Scrolls? And then: we have the Books of Matthew, Luke and John who most scholars admit have been composed from the writings of many authors - AS WITNESSES told the stories to them. - Truth or convenience of memory?
And then we have the Lord's Prayer as translated by scribes in the employ of King James! - can you imagine Jesus telling his disciples that prayer with the words "... AND (you God) LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION..." as if my God would want to lead Jesus, the disciples or me and you into temptation!! And... the audacity of someone (attributed to Jesus himself) to ask God not to do that!

So... I rest my case that there is a strong possibility for corruption of fact in the Bible. NOTE: I do not say that the whole text is corrupt and I do not say that there isn't much to learn from reading it! BUT: if you are asking me to BELIEVE it, word-for-word? Try it on someone else!
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@JollyRoger
if you are asking me to BELIEVE it, word-for-word? Try it on someone else!
Who do you think wrote the Holy Bible?
Johnblackthorn · 56-60, M
Men created the idea of god as a way to control other men.
Women use sex, it's much less complicated.
yeronlyman · 51-55, M
Man created the idea of god...
Possibly due to a need to handle the stress of death etc.

Depends on your personal beliefs. Science wants to stay out of it

God created Nurses and they are the true Goddesses 💝
DaveyTaco · 31-35, M
Can a creation create the creator? Only time will tell who or what made us. I think it's fair to say that scientists have a more logical explanation and religions have a more spiritual explanation. It all depends on what you choose to deduct from what you see, hear, and feel.
KA9ha · 31-35, M
its both ways....
@KA9ha in the same way my daughter and I created each other because she gave me purpose?
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
Man create godS
JollyRoger · 70-79, M
There is no doubt about it that man created God in his mind. But: It doesn't mean that God doesn't exist - it's just the interpretation by man of what God IS that is up for debate.
I feel like you can't use the word create for both of these scenarios without implying either God imagined us, or we literally birthed God into existence.
DIMaverick4 · 41-45, M
Mankind definitely created the word God .. on the rest, jury is out ;)
