cuz it bullshot people pay to worahip a fake god

BlueVeins · 22-25
It gives way to toxic sex-negative attitudes and anti-scientific sentiment. It gets manipulated -- successfully -- to support idiotic political ideologies in numerous countries. And the major religions are just unappealing ideas; the idea of apostates being tortured forever kinda makes me throw up in my mouth whenever I think of it. Fuck, the idea of anyone being punished infinitely for a finite crime is really awful if you think about it long enough.

Religion has caused so many wars,so many people killed,because religious people expect and demand us to believe they are right and everyone else is wrong.Some religions think it is okay to ram their unwanted beliefs down other people's throats.
Even with all our technology there is still no evidence that God exists.The bible is quoted as evidence when it is just a book.
tallpowerhouseblonde · 31-35, F
@Harriet03 Thank you so much for saying that.

@tallpowerhouseblonde I believe there is a higher power, God, if you will. But I totally agree with you about all of the agony and wars, fought over religious dogma, throughout history. Forcing one's doctrine upon others isn't a show of faith, it does not honor God. In fact, it's disgraceful.
HeteroDox · 36-40, F
Its oppressive and indoctrinating nature; it is NOT understanding. It rules through irrational teachings based on no fact, but fear; preying on human fear of mortality. "god" shouldn't need your fear, "god" shouldn't need your money but because clergy isnt a "real" profession that no clinical counsellor couldn't handle outside regular assessment, they continue to prey on the mentally insecure.

The contradictions and the people.

@SW-User
Is that semantics, or interpretation, and personnel more than any deep core error?
SW-User
@Marganitbatadam I think it's everything. I grew up in a "church" family. Very deep seated in religion. The older I get and the more knowledge I gain, the less I think it's credible. Add to it the "religious people" who blindly follow without actually reading, understanding, or practicing the texts and I would rather pass than participate.
SimpleJess · 22-25, F
Well, my personal beliefs, is God does exist, but he's true words, i.e the Bible was rewritten by powerful men back in the days, to eradicate things they didn't like, Gays, other religions, goats, ect. And made it able to justify prosecuting them, there is alot of beauty in the Bible and other religions around the world, but I believe men made it so it totally contradicts itself and made logically thinking humans especially these days turn their backs on God, and that is a big problem, now I'm never going to be the one to push my beliefs onto others, I dont care if you worship, Jesus, Allah, Buddha, satan, or super kami guru, or nothing, just as long as you aren't hurting people, or belittling sinners, it's ok by me, cuz no matter what, either if your seeking God's love, or even if you're not and just in a low spot in your life, I believe you can feel it, people will always be drawn to it, everyone just needs to relax and realize all religions are talking about the same being, sucks people get killed daily because of stuff like that though, it can be a beautiful thing if you look at it as such, and just take all the bad shit that's in the Bible, the Karan, and other religious text and realize that isn't god, that said those things, it was man, because the ones in power at the time knew how powerful that book was, once that happens which probably never will, because the priests, and Preachers, preach religion, not God lol, but if it happens that's when I think peace between all religions would happen, but I don't think it ever will lol

I don't have anything against religion in general per se, I think there is some good in all of them that people can benefit from. However I do not fully believe in them as absolute truth and I do not place faith in any one of them because they are all man-made and therefore fallible. The 'stories' behind them are mainly composed of myth, fantasy, and imagination. I am not just some nay-sayer, I was raised in religion and attended/graduated from a religious school. I threw myself into it and that's when the truths about it began to emerge...I struggled for years with conflict over it. I do believe in a "god" a being or beings/entity bigger than ourselves that I refer to as "God", but I don't believe in religion (or many of the people who follow it).

Is that the people involved during your life rather than the dogma being to blame?

@Sroonaka616
Modern life does that too, doesn't it?

At least I can be my own person outside of religion. @Marganitbatadam

I don’t like religion’s emphasis on dogma and interpretation, its concepts of exclusivity (if you don’t believe what we do, you will burn for all eternity), and the tendency of followers to mold reality to fit their religious views rather than cope with reality. There are many things I like about it too, but those are some things I don’t like.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
Religion is man made. There is no any specific details God created religion in the Bible.

God is a personal and a compassion relationship. That's why we have Jesus Christ

Religions tend to get in the way that would disrupt God and Man.

It's nearly impossible to have a civil and adult discussion about it. I don't think I have ever seen one on here.

I do agree with you.
Normally a Post like this is skewed to get certain responses and exclude the other side.
Marganitbatadam · 22-25, F
@latinbutterfly Oh that's a shame!

It is the way you have the post worded.
It is very antagonistic in wording.

Religion is the greatest cause of trouble in the world.
Marganitbatadam · 22-25, F
@Northerner The actual religion or the way some interpret it?
Northerner · 70-79, M
@Marganitbatadam All religions think their god is better than the others.

People complaining about it ! Geeze enough already

You do know that Madeline stole this theme from Hebrews in the New Testament showing the torture of the Old Testament prophets.

She isn’t that original.

I don't like it when religious leaders presume to speak for God. Encourage my faith, but don't pretend to be God's arbiter.

@VeronicaPrincess That is very nicely put.

How long you got?!
Speedyman · 70-79, M
The thing I don’t like about religion is that is always trying to find God and never finding him
What I like about Christianity is that Jesus came to seek and to say that which was lost and that included me
Pfuzylogic · M
@Speedyman Amen!

There are far more people worshipping a religion than there are people worshipping any god.

I can’t think of anything positive about the concept of a god or religion.
pdockal · 56-60, M
its run by men who are imperfect and convolute it to their liking for power
MasterofNone · 26-30, M
The fact that people seek comfort in religion instead of going deep with the philosophy and practice. The religion almost always caters to people's loneliness, fear, depression or ego than to unbiased compassion and love for all.
kodiac · 22-25, M
The contradictions and the because i said so attitude.A few days ago it was posted if you are a true believer and accept jesus you are protected from the🤯 virus ,same people posting to day that all church services are cancelled out of caution about the virus.

It is an outward experience with external rules. It doesn’t truly express on its own what the Salvation experience is about.
It is like being on the outside looking in and having no idea what the Holy Spirit is truly about.
