It gives way to toxic sex-negative attitudes and anti-scientific sentiment. It gets manipulated -- successfully -- to support idiotic political ideologies in numerous countries. And the major religions are just unappealing ideas; the idea of apostates being tortured forever kinda makes me throw up in my mouth whenever I think of it. Fuck, the idea of anyone being punished infinitely for a finite crime is really awful if you think about it long enough.
