Yes, I know that there is a higher power bigger than me. Not all prayers can or should be answered and sometimes there are answers they just aren't always what we want them to be or what we think they should be

Yes because not all prayers can be answered, actually very few of mine have been. The ones that have were either for someone else, or the whole world, not for me myself
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F
Yes, because sometimes those prayers don’t need to be answered.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@MrsKatherineArch how come they dont?
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F
Because sometimes we pray for the wrong things, I guess. @iamnikki

Prayers are selfish!
@Harriet03
I make more money than you when I don't do anything and you can be as busy than all get out.

Are you drunk, or do you always talk crap??

I believe in God and talk to him every day. It gives me peace to believe that my loved ones are waiting beyond this realm for me and I have hope of seeing them again in my future.

That being said however; I do not judge others for a belief in another God or even that they don't believe in God. They can make their own decisions and follow their path to their destiny.

Yes, because I don't trust myself to be able to discern what is an answered prayer and what's not. I don't believe that just asking for patience or love gets those qualities bestowed automatically. I think we're given situations in which we can find those qualities through the lesson and the trial. Doesn't feel like an answered prayer, but it often is.

I like to think there is a god. Even though I haven't heard his voice myself personally nor do I actually know anything about god. I can understand wanting to atleast hear something back. Atleast a "hey. I got your message" I never received that out of all the times I prayed. Maybe one day I will get that. I haven't lost hope yet.

Yes. Why wouldn't I?

I believe. I believe we are each responsible for answering our own calls, and not relying upon a theological principle to call upon our desire.
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
I believe He answers our prayers but sometimes the answer is no because we pray for the wrong thing.
He ultimately knows what is best for us!

I said my last prayer Dec 30th. I still believe but after 38 years I've come to the harsh reality he doesn't have time for me.
More times the Triune God is answering your prayers and you just are not hearing his answer!
Why do we pray???

Prayers aren't necessarily something that we automatically get answered, or we'd have an end to suffering and death already.

Prayer is a way to strengthen your relationship with God, though it also has a healing quality about it for the person who prays. We could be entirely alone on a desert island, but not feel lonely as long as we sense a god or higher being in our lives.

Remember, sometimes God says, "No."
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
God always answers prayers, but, though He slay me, yet will I trust Him for He is good and I know I will be in paradise with Him.
Been in that situation and I definitely pushed me in the not believing direction.

@MrsKatherineArch how come they dont
