I not only know and believe that God lives but I know Him on a personal basis through His Holy Spirit of Truth.

@Pherick
What's the story? Do you have a link to it please?
Agreed, the arrogance level is insanely high. Especially when discounting the fact that those people didn't want him there, that he could wipe out the entire tribe just by spreading germs they don't have antibodies for.
An act of extreme hubris and I am going to just say it, he was mentally ill.

NEW DELHI — An American missionary trying to meet and convert one of the most isolated hunter-and-gatherer tribes in the world offered them fish and other small gifts before the tribesmen killed him and buried his body on the beach, journals and emails show.
John Allen Chau, 26, of Vancouver, Wash., an Instagram adventurer who also led missionary trips abroad, traveled to the Andaman Islands — an Indian territory in the Bay of Bengal — this month to make contact with members of the tiny Sentinelese tribe, police said. The tribe, which has remained isolated for centuries, rejects contact with the wider world and reacts with hostility and violence to attempts at interaction by outsiders. The island is off-limits to visitors under Indian law.

Wow, ellie7, you opened Pandor's box here. Think of the millions of lives sacrificed over the past thousands of years over this question, and if God exists, which God is it?
As I physician-scientist, I studied physiology and anatomy and am in awe of how finely tuned life in every form is. I remark on the shear magnificence of the functioning organism. I wonder both how could this have occurred simply through natural selection while also wondering how even an all-powerful super being could design such an incredible set of systems. Thus I am left with a belief in some God, but not a white haired man I see in human representations.
If the belief in a God helps a human make sense for the world, that is great. It is wonderful to have such faith. Humans are the only animal that knows we will all die. Belief in a deity may make that fact more acceptable.
I only ask that everyone keep their belief(s) to him or herself. Please do not proselytize. Do not condemn those whose beliefs are different regardless of whether or not they worship one God or another. Most religions preach peace, but it should be peace for all regardless of race, religion or country of origin!

@newjaninev2 that is not what I said or meant. I remarked at how in awe I am with the vastness of nature and natural phenomena. I remarked at how complex and wonderful life is. I am philosophical about the larger order. If that bothers you, so be it.

@samueltyler2 I share that awe... it permeates my every day. We simply spoke it from two different perspectives, one static and the other dynamic... one a picture and the other a video.

@newjaninev2 thanks, you sound as much a philosopher as I!
For me, there is no unknown still there, as I have experienced Him in my life and the power of the Holy Spirit, which is evidence of His prescence in every born again believer. The earnest of our promise of security until the day we arrive in heaven.

I'd rather that said God reveal itself.

I can accept and believe in God, even though so much is not known. My life without Him would have been over years ago.

Hebrews 11:1 - "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."
I have faith in God.
I have faith in God.

My only choice is to believe in God? I guess this question wasn't directed to me.

I know there is no god at all
SneepSnoop · 31-35, M
Well, I believe with all the unknown still there. But it'd be a lot easier for me if there was irrefutable proof.
TeresaRudolph71 · 51-55, F
I'd rather know for a fact.

Data God is so boring.
