Thoughts on reincarnation? [Spirituality & Religion]

If people wish to believe that, they can, but it is not found anywhere in the Bible and in fact, contradicts it.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
Reincarnation is a myth. God created us in unique ways so that no two are a like. You are you and there never has been or will never be anyone like you again. It's His desire that none of us be lost but come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
I wanna be a tree next lifetime

I was a car in my last life. This reincarnation is a disappointment.
xSharp · 31-35, M
everything in nature goes in a circle, it recycles, we are natural or created by aliens, either way we follow natural biological order and most likely follow the same pattern, i dont know for sure, but reincarnation seems the most logical outcome, it may take a million years, but what is a million years to a dead person with no sense of time?
lovingdead · 31-35, M
people are energy, science.....and if energy never dies and just changes forms then fuck yes. based on science it should be real. then many different religions have their views on it.

overall i say yes. some bonds made in this life seem too strong to let something as little as death stop them.

I believe in it

Rebirth is my preferred option. Reincarnation implies the persistence of a soul and continuity. Rebirth does not imply that continuity.
Keraunos · 36-40, M
Kind of got mixed hopes on that one. Continued existence might be alright, but if I don't have a conscious and explicit say in the nature of my next form, the odds that the next life will just be shittier than this one seem very high. The fact that so few people have exceptional abilities or achievements would seem to indicate that if reincarnation occurs, we probably don't get much of that conscious and explicit say — which paints it more as the fundamentally distressing situation it's actually made out to be in most of the religions that believe in it.

I wish people could just come back as themselves...
Peaceful · F
@infiniteconnection you should study the story of the Dalai Lama's. Very thought provoking and gives interesting insights into it. 💜
infiniteconnection · 26-30, F
@Peaceful I will. I’m reading the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying right now - so good so far! I’ll check that out next 🦋🔮

@infiniteconnection awesome!!!

Of all the various afterlife scenarios out there, it's the only one I wish were real.

I'm a follower of Jesus. The Bible says in the book of Hebrews 9:27, "Just as human beings have to die once, but after this comes judgment". So the Bible teaches that we live once, die once.

However, the Christian faith teaches Resurrection, not Reincarnation. I believe this.

I hope it doesn't exist, because I'm pretty much done with all this.
Don’t worry. It doesn’t. @GeistInTheMachine

I’d be a tree too. Or maybe even a cat
I want to be reincarnated dead
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
I do not believe in a soul, but every atom in our bodies came from elsewhere. We were all of us, forged in the heart of stars.
@ViciDraco its kind of weird tho how atoms came together to create things
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@badapple it's also kind of weird how humans came together to create temples and churches and castles and skyscrapers and agriculture and airplanes and rocketships. But we did. Atoms were not coherently organizing which is why it took them billions of years to get started out. We've had the ability to coherently organize so our feats have all happened in the blink of an eye comparatively.
@ViciDraco not really. quite easy to build things. more weirder how atoms came together to create something more complicated than a building.
