All the men took their hats off to show respect

Didn’t see one man awkwardly late to the display looking at others doing so, thinking “Oh, maybe I should take my hat off too.” I love when it just comes to them. Even if they aren’t informed of the rules of proper etiquette, yet they simply know what to do. You remove your hat to display a sense of vulnerability to the loved ones of someone who has passed. 🫡

that's so thoughtful and impressive - on outward demonstration of the strength of that community.

I recall my little nephew quietly emulating me and the platoon at my fathers honors ceremony. all the standing, saluting, etc. i think i scared him when i knelt down to hand him ear plugs - i remember his look of understanding after the three-volley

If I wore a hat I would assuredly remove it.

@Degbeme of course, because you’re a gentleman. So many men wear hats here, because it’s so hot. So there were a lot of hats present. Just all in a simultaneous motion. It was heartwarming.

Manners are very important

@Ducky I've had guys open the door for me and step aside to let me go first. It feels nice

@Jexie I’ve had guys randomly buy me drinks at the bar. But such interactions are shallow. When they’re able to show such respect on a much deeper level, that makes it far more meaningful.

@Ducky Definitely
