To think I was becoming a misanthrope

I don’t love people now, but I recognize now that humans aren’t as bad as we might seem. All it took was me learning to love again.

In a Capitalist society however, our perceived successes are based on gain because without gain, the perception is that success was not achieved. Not knowing that is where we get fukkedup, or at least 'think' we're fukkedup.

Not knowing what? Of course, success is based on gain. Why call it capitalism? Is it for demonizing attainment? Life is a struggle to succeed. In order to succeed, there is the drive to attain a desired outcome.
this too shall pass

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout What will pass? Being a misanthrope or loving people?

You can't compare yourself to 'misanthrope'. You were merely re-learning to love, whereas misantroophe is genetically fukkedup.

If you look at life more spiritually (not religiously), within the universe Proper there is no such thing as gain and loss. Such concepts simply do not exist, no different than does the concept of 'time' exist. This is because "gain, loss and time" are man-made perceptions that do not exist anywhere else in the universe except here on earth... and even here on earth there are places where people exist where the concept of gain and loss does not form a part of their vocabulary.

The fact that you gave up everything as you said and followed your friend to the end of the earth was in fact a success, not a failure on your part.

What you achieved by doing that was a part of your sacred agreement that you had made before you were even born into this lifetime. This means that following your friend was what you were suppose to do anyway!

Had you chosen instead to not follow your sacred agreement when the decision was being made to follow your friend, avoiding that outcome would not be deemed a failure but it would only mean that you had delayed fulfilling your sacred agreement and eventually, you'd have to fulfill that agreement at some point in your lifetime. The time to actually fulfill such agreements are when your spirit moves you. That is the time to act, not later and certainly not never.

Two questions:

1. What do you mean by universe Proper? Has it anything to do with the stars in the sky? and
2. Why do you make a distinction between spiritually and religiously?

(I am responding spontaneously, without reflection, to each of your statements as I read them similar to returning rapid fire shots from you on the tennis court. I prefer doing this rather than mulling over what you said before crafting a considered reply.)

Gain and loss are concepts? I lost five hundred buck last Saturday betting on So Happy to win in the Kentucky Derby. The loss was not a concept. You need to explain what you mean by concept. Granted, money is an idea but this idea facilitates the store of value. I can exchange that $500 for 100 dozen eggs. The former may be an idea but the later is real food that can be eaten.
