From Adam & Eve 6,000 yrs ago we now have 8,300,000,000 people?

Unrealistic much?

Well.... He did say ' go forth and multiply '

So I guess they did
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Tracos And that was in the days before calculators😷
peterlee · M
Does that worry you?

Better to send aid to Nepal.
@peterlee

Two people have blocked me already... will you kindly be the third.
peterlee · M
@rinkydinkydoink No, I’ll give you that honour 🤣
@peterlee

At least you have a sense of humor. Much appreciated :D
Go back a few hundred generations and we’re all from Africa.

Slavem · 70-79, M
Scientist proved blue eyes came from one person
@Slavem

Yep. Roughly 6,000 to 10,000 yrs ago... hmmmm!

However, the Malaria Defense Mutation happened roughly 2 to 3 million years ago.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Well... There was no TV back then....😷
Slavem · 70-79, M
Actually after the flood we only had Noah’s family
Lots of people died in wars.after that as well.
@Slavem

Right! Which makes the odds even worse.

The idea of The Ark and its passengers is almost as impossible to believe... wouldn't there have been every insect pairing, too? And what about Orcas and dolphins - how would they have survived with it raining cats and dogs non-stop?
Rabscuttle · 41-45
No, nothing like that. Eden didn't contain the first humans; it was just Yahweh's little chunk of the planet- remember that the Jews didn't become monotheistic until the Assyrian siege of Jerusalem, and were henotheists before that.

You see this in Cain, exiled for slaying his brother, saying "Other men" would kill him, at a time when (as per the Bible) there was only one other man, his father.
MoSmith · 70-79New
@Rabscuttle then I suggest you read some more!
Rabscuttle · 41-45
@MoSmith That would just reinforce it. I suggest you learn that not every piece of dogma you've been taught is true.
MoSmith · 70-79New
@Rabscuttle not at all. You need to learn that not everything you read is true. And that some of the guys who claim mythology are talking at the back of the head. Some of us are a bit too educated to believe them

Other than the Adam & Eve part, pretty realistic.
val70 · 56-60
Yes. Next there will be some more cullings. Humanity isn't humane enough yet.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
If only Eve had been a little more open minded and taken it up the 'dinner dumper'!
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
Only for a literalist. 🙂
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Oh my word yes!

Eight thousand million started from the children of one unmarried couple who'd committed the sin of discovering something unspecified that humans are not meant to know...

I thought illegitimacy and incest are sins!
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@ArishMell Exactly. And Moses had his own shot with his meeting on the Mount with God when he got the ten commandments. (It seems there are actually over 70 commandments if you dig deep enough. But the Editor apparently wanted something snappier.)

@whowasthatmaskedman Besides, 10 rules are one thing but when inscribed on tiles, 70 is not exactly ligght reading!
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@ArishMell Actually, I think this was the origin of the medical phrase. "Take two tablets and call me in the morning.."😷
MoSmith · 70-79New
Even some evolutionists believe that the human race is starting from a single couple. The numbers in the Bible old Testament should not be taken as anything more than approximations
@MoSmith

Tell the Leader of the House... he is a bonkers biblical literalist.
Yeah it’s hard for me to fathom that people take interpretations in religion literally.
@ArishMell I agree but I think everyone is afraid of that.

whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@InterdimensionalSideEye Its even harder for me to fathom how anyone takes religion seriously..😷
