St. Joseph's Indian school is ON the Pine Ridge reservation. Mismanaged in its early days, it is now a VERY worthy charity. I have donated money to them frequently in the past, when I was in better shape financially.
The school acts as a boarding school for students who are in danger from abusive parents, or who have extreme food insecurities. They provide for every single need these children have. In addition, they make trips for hundreds of miles to outlying areas of the reservation, to people who live in mobile homes, who can not get to food pantries, and bring them food.
The children of St. Joseph's are being taught their OWN culture, and it is blended with our own. Part of what each child receives in addition to school kits and food and clothing is Christmas gifts.
I hope everyone who reads your post will consider donating to St. Joseph's Indian School.
