Define good. Selfish would be as well be subjective.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
I believe we are mostly good. What I find interesting is that we are all wired for connection. We are social creatures and have developed behaviours that help us to connect to others. We are safest in a group where we can find mutual respect and support and that is what we deem to be "good".
From a spiritual angle, in the very beginning, even before the world was formed there was God, Jesus (the angel of the Lord) and the holy Spirit all connecting as one together. "Let US make mankind in OUR image" so that's how we are made, to connect and relate well to one another.

It's flawed......because sin entered. ....so it's essentially a part of us

If humans are social creatures then I think that means there must be some sort of innate empathy. And I do think we're shaped by our societies
Mindful · 56-60, F
We learn by experience whether to be selfish or good

Iv been asking this question for some time now! Lets aee how people answer.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
People are still animals controlled by primitive instincts but as creatures that have a better concept of time, we're also much more prone to greed. I mean, much more than a squirrel making its stash for winter.

Not sure but it seems like more and more people are choosing selfishness for the wrong reasons and at the wrong times and that makes me sad. Everything shouldn't be about what you can "get out of it."

I think our brains are supposed to be a tool we use. When the creek is stopped up we use our brains to get it flowing again. But when we let our brains tell us what to do we are bound to suffer.

i think we are neutral and get pushed/influenced one way or another for better or worse.. tho in some cases it seems some are born evil to the core

Inherently good? Not a chance. Selfish.
Besides what is good....by whose standard.
