I feel the way I do about most topics here; if it interests me I engage, if not, I keep scrolling.
And some forums I block. That way I see less of the topics that I find useless, like organized religion.

They are virtue signaling.
Posting news stories that reflect their beliefs and looking for validation and like minded people

@SumKindaMunster Yes that’s how I feel about them too.

it's just a perfect example of democracy in action! freedom of expression includes freedom of condemnation, praise, or prophecy. It is considered good practice to cite sources when providing a verbatim copy of someone else's work, naturally.
I don't pay any mind to them

For me it reminds me that things are still happening out there, which is rarely good, so with people here posting about those things there's always an outrage sentiment, which is either commendable, or reprehensible, the latter being an example of how I see error being propounded and expanded, and the prior as reinforcement that fosters a sense of communal woe about the state of things.

Yeah, I just scroll past them all
I get my news sources elsewhere

I suppose it's an improvement on people who just post memes

Showing their superiority especially when you disagree with their opinions
I don’t really give it much thought. Their prerogative to post what they want, my prerogative to scroll on by. Besides the fact that some people come here to get a break from their own lives. I frequently include myself in that category.

@OlderSometimesWiser Same, tbh.
Pretzel · 70-79, M
I think people have always had conversations about current events that affect us, or amuse us, or make us wonder about things.
Sometimes I post, sometimes I engage
And if I'm not interested I just keep scrolling

@Pretzel It seems like it’s rarely a conversation. More like a broadcast. If you have an alternative opinion you get ignored or trolled.
Pretzel · 70-79, M
@LadyShagw0rthy oh I guess I've already blocked THOSE people :)
JonLosAngeles66 · M
I think there's room for posts about current events and posts about very private stuff. I usually don't care about someone's private stuff tbh. Why judge? If I'm not interested in a topic I just don't read it.

Iran war updates: Tehran rejects Trump’s ‘helpless, nervous’ ultimatum
LadyShagw0rthy · 36-40, F
@Ferise1 I can read that for myself. Do you have anything else to say?
