What brings you joy?

Tired of venting/ranting about my depression.

Felt like a better start to understand what is joy for everyone
Gusman · 61-69, M
Joy for me is being out in the bush seeing a flash of blue go by.
That flash being a beautiful Azure Kingfisher
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@Gusman beautiful
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@kodiac that is love tbh. A bundle of fur that wouldn't leave your side.
kodiac · 22-25, M
@Beatbox34 Family!🩵
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@kodiac I agree.

Just being grateful for being alive. Going for walks through the trees in Autumn, feeling the sun on your face in Spring urging the flowers to wake up. Seeing kids playing in the park. Cold dark Winter nights that tell me Xmas is coming. Over all of that my children and my grandson and family.

Whether it was big or small, I was always able to get what I needed in life after praying and wishing for it at the right time.
Appreciative of all the miracles that bring joy.

@SW-User I can’t relate. But i know happiness does exist.
Focus on what makes your heart beat faster. Is there anything that interests you in the slightest? From the past even? I am glad you realize you must change something to change your life and your mood. May I recommend to you a free online forum? It is called Wondermind. You choose articles based upon how you feel. Your mood. You get useful tips. For anxiety, depression, anger, etc. Please try Wondermind. You will find it useful. Good luck.

What brings me joy? Hiking. Sketching. Painting. Writing. Horseback riding. Spending time with my friends in my area. Cooking. Baking. Singing. Dancing. Helping others. Giving advice. Writing letters to those I love. I try new experiences as much as I can. This means that I continue to learn and to grow in my life.

@PoetryNEmotion I'm just trying to fix my life. Study. Exercise. Try to lose weight. Cut off the toxic people in life. I'm trying to find reasons to get past. It's just hard given how my life is. But it is what it is. I'm just trying and that's all I can do.

But thank you too.

That sounds very positive tbh. How you elaborated about helping others and learning in the process. I like it. I'd definitely would love to try baking some day.
@Beatbox34 Sounds like you are making progress. I applaud you. Far easier to complain than to do different. Each of us struggle. Do you realize that? Some make that the story of their life. That is sad. That is a choice. Helping othrrs makes one focus on domrone else. Then one can see one's problems are not the world. Just a smsll part of it. Try Wondermind. A solid forum. It works. Try baking now. Google a recipe. Try it. You may be surprised how fun it is. Learning is a positive action. You got this.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@PoetryNEmotion thank you so much for all of this.

progress. big or small wins, it doesn't matter. a win is a win. moving forward and moving up is the goal. it's not perfect (yet) but I'm getting there. that's what brings me happiness.
swirlie · 31-35, F
You will never find joy outside of yourself, so don't even start looking for it there.

@JoyfulSilence nah. It's not being stupid. We learn something everyday. You'd be surprised by a lot of stuff you might know that we lack to know.
