Someone told me that depression tricks your mind into thinking that it's normal to feel that way.

That's why it's difficult to treat mental disorders. You basically relapse the moment your brain thinks it's time to 🙄

That person was full of sh-t and spreading ignorance...it might be remotely true for "the blues", but real depression is sometimes physiological and more often neurological in nature. Not curable but often treatable and controllable with medications, support, and therapy.

I suffered severe depression for over a year, and I have to say, I [b]never[/b] thought it was "normal" to feel that way. I was in absolute hell and would have done anything (almost did) to end it. Thankfully, I finally got some meds that helped.

Not every depressed person experiences depression the same way you do, They have depression...it doesn't have them

It does, i was for nearly 10 years and didn't know the difference until i took medication for a bit.
