One off the top of my mind is the move from indoor malls to outdoor shopping centers. Who wants to walk from store to store in the rain? There is also no area to host events or for people to gather, and the way the parking lots and roads are designed in most outdoor shopping centers is a nightmare. I don't see why they are so much more popular than indoor malls and running them out, nor why so many indoor malls are being redeveloped into these.

Sous Vide cooking, which is cooking in a vacuum-sealed plastic bag. Heating food in a plastic bag is likely to produce carcinogens and cooking for longer periods of time than that even more. Can cause cancer of the tongue.

Internet challenges that the youth seem to enjoy participating in…stupid trends like eating Tide pods or the blue whale challenge.
