What are some of the dumbest trends you've heard over the years?

Here's 3 of of many:

- Choose a man or a bear (most women chose bear).
- Encouraging women to divorce men for no reason. Literally.
- Cooking food, like chicken, with NyQuil.

Too many to list... 🤣

One off the top of my mind is the move from indoor malls to outdoor shopping centers. Who wants to walk from store to store in the rain? There is also no area to host events or for people to gather, and the way the parking lots and roads are designed in most outdoor shopping centers is a nightmare. I don't see why they are so much more popular than indoor malls and running them out, nor why so many indoor malls are being redeveloped into these.

@BnBSpringer09 Nobody wants to walk in the rain but the parking lots at our large indoor mall are so large that we would get soaked after finding a parking space because the good spaces near the building and entrance doors are usually taken. It costs so much to maintain an indoor mall plus the utilities in that central strolling area that the shops are charged a huge amount for rent. Many of these stores are choosing to move into their own buildings and not waste the money on rent and perhaps other fees like mall advertising. We also have a very large outdoor mall here that is very popular. Customers can park much closer to the doors and then drive to the next stores and do the same.
@BnBSpringer09 Umbrellas aren't difficult to use 🤷

@cherokeepatti In my area, it's pretty much the opposite. Our indoor mall has plenty of good close parking spaces, but the outdoor mall's parking is a mess (and it also seems drivers go flying across the lots and in front of the buildings without paying any attention, though that's unfortunately a problem with lots of places). It does sadly make sense about the costs, though.

@OogieBoogie True, but sometimes it starts raining unexpectedly (or much earlier than the forecast predicted) and I don't have one. This unfortunately happened on my birthday when I was looking for a new purse. :( There's also an issue with other weather like snow, ice, heavy winds, etc. I also hate dodging the cars flying through the outdoor shopping centers not paying attention where they're going, though to be fair, that is also an issue at large grocery chains and the like (but there is way more walking involved with an outdoor shopping center).
@BnBSpringer09 oh, ok.
I suppose where i live im not bothered by rain or such, (i actually love rain).

I personally find large shopping centres very over stimulating, i dislike the accousitcs and the air conditioning. They are loud and confronting.

Shopping strips seem more relaxing to me.

But each to their own 🤷😊

@OogieBoogie I wouldn't mind rain so much if I didn't have curly hair that turns into a massive frizz ball when water touches it. 🤣
@BnBSpringer09 oh well.....thats completely understandable 😂
