Lies Biden will tell in his State of the Union:

1) Biden has reduced the budget deficit by $1.4 trillion.

the national debt has risen by more than $4.2 trillion.

2) Biden inherited an economy in freefall.

by 2020’s second half, the economy soared by more than 20%, and millions of Americans were moving back into their jobs. This was a historic recovery.

3) Inflation was high when Biden entered office.

The average inflation rate during the Trump presidency was 2%

4) Biden has brought down gas prices.

When Trump left office, the gas price was $2.59

5) Biden is doing all he can to secure the border.

Biden issued some 90 executive orders undoing Trump’s successful border enforcement policies

border encounters, the highest ever until 2022, when that number surged above 2 million.

6) Biden is increasing domestic oil and gas production.

Biden has issued fewer drilling permits than any president since World War II’s end. America would have produced nearly $200 billion more oil last year if not for Biden

Truths Biden should be telling instead...

He should point out that he pushed for the giant $1.9tn American Rescue Plan, during the pandemic, ignoring Trump's fuck-ups with spending next to nothing.

He should point out that this was followed by a $550bn initiative to rebuild bridges, roads, public transit, broadband, water and energy systems. And in 2022, the biggest investment in clean energy in American history – expanding wind and solar power, electric vehicles, carbon capture and sequestration, and hydrogen and small nuclear reactors.

He should point out that this was followed by the largest public investment ever in semiconductors, the building blocks of the next economy.

He should also point out that these initiatives are targeted to companies that employ American workers.

He models himself on FDR, so he should point out that he has also embarked on altering the balance of power between capital and labour, as did FDR. He has put trustbusters at the head of the Federal Trade Commission and the Antitrust Division of the justice department. And he has remade the National Labor Relations Board into a strong advocate of labor unions.

He should point out that, unlike Obama and Clinton, he has not sought to reduce trade barriers. In fact, he has retained several from the Trump administration. But unlike Trump, he has not given a huge tax cut to corporations and the wealthy.

It’s also worth him saying that in contrast with every president since Reagan, he has not filled his White House with former Wall Street executives. Not one of his economic advisers – not even his treasury secretary – is from the Street.

Finally, he should point out that his greatest achievement thus far has been to change the economic paradigm that has reigned since Reagan. He is teaching America a lesson they once knew but have forgotten: that the “free market” does not exist. It is designed. It either advances public purposes or it serves the monied interests.

He is returning to an era where the government organised the market for the greater good.

trump can be held personally responsible for 500,000 dead Americans for continually downplaying Covid. And that's on the low side. Fact.
ididntknow · 51-55, M
@Vin53 How many died under Biden ? And stop listening to CNN MSNBC
@tindrummer Mr "ididntknow" who blocks me asks how many died under Biden. The key point for him is that over 80% {*} of the Covid deaths in 2021 were among our 25% unvaccinated. The unvaxxed had about a 15X higher death rate, see CDC link below.

In short, 2021 was truly a pandemic of the unvaccinated.

If you want to show him the graph, put square braces around the following string:

image=https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/976/cpsprodpb/1492/production/_122366250_optimised-deaths_by_vax_incidence_rate-nc.png.webp

{*} The "over 80%" figure depends on how you do your stats, because vaccines were still rolling out during the first quarter of 2021, so it's not a fair comparison of vax vs unvax deaths. CDC starts its comparison of US vax vs unvax deaths on April 4 2021.

@Vin53 over half of which didn't die from covid but what was wrong with them before covid.

Biden is a puppet, not a president.
He's not a leader.
This country has been going downhill fast since Trump left office.
And crime is at an all time high with no plans in sight to try and fix it.
Such a shame.
And Biden's pledge was to bring both parties together....
SHIT ! They have never been further apart then ever !!!!
You can state all the facts you want, the simple fact is that the country was in better shape when we had Trump in office...period.
IM5688 · 61-69, M
@Midlifemale Of course he had help spreading us further apart, Pelosi, Schumer, Obama, Hillary, etc.
1) Biden has reduced the budget deficit by $1.4 trillion.

the national debt has risen by more than $4.2 trillion.
Are you aware that both of these statements can be true? Are you aware that the debt and the deficit are two different measurements?? In 2020, Trump ran a world record yearly deficit of almost $4 trillion. It's not to hard to reduce the deficit below that point.

[sep][sep][sep]
2) Biden inherited an economy in freefall.

by 2020’s second half, the economy soared by more than 20%, and millions of Americans were moving back into their jobs. This was a historic recovery.
Biden inherited an economy in terrible shape. 22 million jobs were lost in March & April 2020, and the yearly deficit, as noted above, was almost $4 trillion, mostly spent on bailouts.
3) Inflation was high when Biden entered office.

The average inflation rate during the Trump presidency was 2%
Again, both statements can be true. new budgets take effect Oct 1. This means Trump's final budget ran until Sept 30, 2021. Inflation that month was 5.4%. That is Trump's final month inflation.

[sep][sep][sep]
4) Biden has brought down gas prices.

When Trump left office, the gas price was $2.59
Gas prices went up, and you guys blamed Biden. Then gas prices came down. Doesn't Biden get credit for that change???

[sep][sep][sep]
5) Biden is doing all he can to secure the border.

Biden issued some 90 executive orders undoing Trump’s successful border enforcement policies

border encounters, the highest ever until 2022, when that number surged above 2 million.
SCOTUS recently decided that Trump's Title 42 border order stays in effect. Meaning it has been in effect ALL THRU the Biden admin. However, it's not very effective.

"U.S. Customs and Border Protection records ... show that suspected smuggling gangs managed to hack through the heavy steel bollards making up the fence 3,272 times between 2019 and 2021."
https://fox4kc.com/news/smugglers-cut-through-trump-border-wall-over-3000-times-report-says/
. Why did Trump waste so many billions on a completely ineffective barrier??

Smugglers can quickly cut a panel near the bottom and swing it out to let a crowd of people thru. SAD!!
6) Biden is increasing domestic oil and gas production.

Biden has issued fewer drilling permits than any president since World War II’s end. America would have produced nearly $200 billion more oil last year if not for Biden
FALSE!

Actually, Biden is issuing drilling permits on federal land faster than Trump did. Biden put a moratorium on new leases, but he's outdone Trump in drilling permits!
Biden outpaces Trump in issuing drilling permits on public lands

Biden Outpaced Trump on Drilling Permits in First Year
Anchorage Daily News
But one year after announcing a halt to any new federal oil and gas leasing, Biden has outpaced Donald Trump in issuing drilling permits on public lands. After setting a record for the largest offshore lease sale last year in the Gulf of Mexico, the Interior Department plans to auction off oil and gas drilling rights on more than 200,000 acres across Western states by the end of March, followed by 1 million acres in Alaska’s Cook Inlet.
@ElwoodBlues All the bragging Biden did last night was fiction !!!
All the news stations, including CBS and NBC say 62% of Americans dont believe what he says and don't trust him.
@Midlifemale Nice job misrepresenting the polls, LOL!!!
Nobody polled belief or trust in Biden, they polled approval of the job he's doing. 51.9% disapproval; 42.9% approval according to
https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/biden-approval-rating/

Look at that! You got both the NUMBERS wrong, and the MEANING of the numbers wrong!! Other than that, good job!!!

1 hour before bidens speech would be perfect timing :)

I see you don't understand the budget deficit and the national debt. The budget deficit is an annual measurement of how income and spending compare. Biden has indeed reduced the budget deficit from the huge, record deficits run by Trump. However, the country is still running an annual budget deficit. That contributes to the national debt increase since we have been spending more money than we take in for over 20 years. Clinton was the last president to run a budget surplus.

You are welcome.
It was like that when I got here..

No wait, may not be able to last that long, or say it understandable.

its hilarious now how twitter fact checks his posts now and corrects him on the bullshit he tries telling people
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
But Republicans have also prioritized policies this month that would add to deficits. The House passed legislation this week that would rescind much of the $80 billion that was allocated to the Internal Revenue Service last year to beef up its enforcement capacity. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said that the Republican bill to cut the money would actually increase the deficit by $114 billion through 2032.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@Longpatrol Not to mention the tax cuts for the rich they passed in 2017 that ballooned the deficit like crazy.
Amen to that!! Truth!

Your BDS is Showing
@ididntknow how Washington insiders frame the duopoly. How a war goes on over our heads, forever.
True, Americans would not focus on that!
But they're powerless.
Most Americans don't want the USA to exclude immigrants.
Gas isn't a great way to power ourselves -. We need mass transit as soon as possible.
We need to move off the oil and gas.
You need to print money and build green infrastructure, no matter what the deficit or debt.
It's likely that most Americans don't want to arm Ukraine and ignore peace.
Keep wishing for those glorious trump years.
Yes…. I won’t even listen to liars.
