What would you do if your wife was unexpectedly pregnant?

Let's say that you have a wife who accidentally got pregnant. The pregnancy is dangerous and making her sick. Unfortunately, you live in a state that has banned all abortion and it's also illegal to travel outside of state to get one. The doctor says it's best for her to continue the pregnancy and pray for the best even though there's a huge chance she might die from this

Your premise is absolute BS. States may NOT EVER make it illegal to travel outside the state for ANY REASON WHATSOEVER. It is unconstitutional to try to restrict the travel of a United States citizen. Just as it is unconstitutional to try to make US citizens carry travel passes as some states tried to do during covid.

That's really not a hard scenario. You go to a state where a legal and safe abortion can be obtained. If one has to leave the country to do so, then that family must make that sacrifice.

You're entitled to your opinion, and I respect your opinion. I'm just a little baffled at how this became an issue again in our country. Everything was fine, we had limits on abortion, funding for abortion and everything was fine. Now we want a total ban on it or no limits whatsoever. What the hell happened?!!!
I thought the abortion rights and limits were working fine and now all hell has broken loose.

Well, I'm not one to second-guess, but...

1. You should have factored this into your decision to get your wife pregnant in the first place. It's important to know the laws of where you live and the implications they could have on you. We call this contingency planning.

2. Having studied up on this, many pregnancies are dangerous and make the woman feel sick. I wouldn't stress over this prematurely.

3. Get a second opinion and plan a surreptitiously plan a vacation to a location that is abortion-friendly. Consider a permanent move to that place.

4. Be discreet and if and when necessary, take that vacation.

5. Next time, plan better.

Listen... I'm just saying that as a supreme planner, you need to take into account the implications of your intentions and anticipate consequences for your actions. If you know what to expect you will be better prepared to manage the outcome. It's really a question of managing statistical options, people. It's using information and knowledge to direct and achieve "the best" outcome.

First of all a womans health nd her life are separate issues.. With medical technology today unless its an ectopic pregnancy or a progressive cancer that requires immediate radiation or chemotherapy a woman's risk of losing her life if she carries her pregnancy to term is practically non existent..

Being uncomfortable nausea vomiting and swelling are not life threatening. She and her husband invited this new life. Sex has always came with the risk of pregnancy. She has a responsibility to the life she and her husband created. This new life had no choice in its conception. Why should it be sentenced to tortured by being ripped apart ?

Don't you think that she can be responsible for 9 months ?

@Woofwoof15 If a woman doesn't want or is unable to be pregnant for whatever reason ( I do understand that not all women can physically carry a pregnancy to term ), women and men need to be responsible and properly use contraception. It is ultimately the woman who is responsible to ensure that she doesn't get pregnant

The scenario doesn’t exist. What if the father was an alien. Would you have the alien baby and submit to alien birth rays to advance the pregnancy? And what if the baby’s ears were like earthling’s ears subjecting the child to abuse on his father’s planet?

Pregnancy has never been guaranteed to be perfect and all goes well.
From what I've seen, it's mostly a woman's choice to abort or continue the pregnancy and many women and men agree with it. So.... I'm sure the couple will find a way to follow through with whichever choice they make.
You do realize doctors are often wrong about many medical things, right?

We all might die any day now... maybe we should all abort and be done with it.
