When you live in a society rampant with extremist ideologies

You're still labeled an extremist even when you try to take things in moderation.

A balance and rational approach becomes labeled as extreme as well by those on opposite sides of ideological spectrums.

To extreme radicals moderation is extreme.

If you state "I don't entirely side with either A or B"

Both A and B will label you extreme for not choosing sides.

Extreme moderate = Oxymoron
I like the label
"extreme centrist"

They wouldn't call you extrem rather they would sort you into one of the two sides according to how they interpret your point of view.
Comparing US politics to other countries the democrats aren't even extreme. The problem is that a binary exists somewhere a binary doesn't belong. There should be more than two parties and if there only are two you either side a little more to one or the other.

"Extreme moderate" or actually "radical centrist" is definitely a thing, you were one until yesterday too lol. The obsession with being "neutral" and calling everyone else "extremist" pretty much define it.

@cyberdude28 its a soothing internal narrative....the "left" (mainstream left is becoming more authoritarian and actually how they perceive the "right"). So to label ppl who have correctly come to the conclusion that this system is corrupt and it doesnt matter if its red or blue, the manifestations of mainstream "left" and "right", extremists keeps them locked into the statist status quo. So much of their identity is pinned to this weird system they will defend it no matter what.....and that includes some outrageous hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance
@gol979 Give me some examples of the Left becoming more authoritarian.

Can you provide examples derived from our actual politics? Strawman politics offers a few, but we don't actually live with strawman politics.
