Does Criminal reform work?

No. If a person spends years in a box with everyone one constantly watching and judging him then you will come out mentslly fucked up. Most of the time if you spend years in prison you learn things from other people in there and come out hard as fuck. You become the influences in your life. Noone deserves to be shoved in a box. There is no healing.

One category is missing “Depends on the crime”

It does not for sex offenders. Spoke to a man who used to be over that type of thing in an Oklahoma prison. He said about all you can do is teach them that there are consequences when they are tempted back into re-offending and teach them how to avoid being tempted. He is the psychologist for a sex offender camp now and seems to be very frustrated, the program lasts about 2 years for these men and once they get out into the free world and on their own it’ll be a different stor.

Depends on the individual. If they want help and to reform then they will. Just like an addict, if they don’t want help then the help won’t do any good. It’s a struggle but they have to want to do it to get through the struggle.

Depends if effort is put into it. It's a whole society jigsaw puzzle, and [i]all[/i] folk have got to be interested enough to move the pieces
