I can't stand content spamming on YouTube, especially when channels I'm subscribed to do it

A couple I'm subscribed to used to upload new content on a fairly consistent schedule, even if it might've taken days or over a week for them to upload, it would always be quality material that would increase their subscriber base. Now they upload a lot more frequently, but when they do, it's mainly lengthy compilations of old videos and seems it's only every other upload is a video that's actually new. Not sure if they're running out of ideas or just plain greedy, but it's frickin' annoying and I may just have to unsubscribe if they keep it up. Always sucks to see once-great content creators fall off and just resort to spam, if not crappy content.

I'm into car stuff so it's one of my favorite things to watch. I've noticed it's become increasingly common for companies to buy YouTube channels after they've become large & keep a consistent fan base. It's killed off a lot of the stuff I used to watch because then the content creators don't get to make their own ideas or try things they actually want to do. The companies keep them doing what is proven to generate numbers & views.

Of course there's also YouTubers who don't get bought out & they simply do that shit on their own because they're striving to keep their numbers high. It could also come from laziness or lack of ideas 🤷 I definitely know what you mean though

I have wondered whether some of them are under pressure from YT to produce regular content. I think they all have to produce 'shorts' these days, even though it's clear a lot of them don't want to do that. I have one or two subscriptions which only produce occasionally, but it's worth the wait. I suspect if you want to make real money from YT, you do need to feed the monster regardless of quality. This is pretty much like mainstream TV which so often needs to provide something to wrap around the advertising.

I'd unsubscribe right away. I'm so picky about who I subscribe to, lol. I mostly avoid those who upload very frequently and if I like their content, Youtube recommends me their videos right after they publish something new, so I'm covered. 😆 If not, I usually remember the name of the channel.
