U.K. Army recruitment

Hi, I am looking to join the army and want to know my chances of getting in ??
I am 22, fairly fit, I have a lot of tattoos most are on my chest, arms and legs, but I do have a hand tattoo and another on the back of my neck.
I also suffer with asthma and eczema, both not too bad, but I do have to carry an inhaler, will any of these things hamper my application ???

I would make an appointment to go see your local recruitment officer to talk about your ambitions and concerns.

But don’t self eliminate. Make them tell you no.

I had mild dyslexia when I left school but I’ve still enjoyed 19 years as an Airframe Technician in the Royal Air Force.

Best of luck.
Possibly asthma, just a guess though

My son is joing the British army at the moment, I think the asthma thing might be a problem, he had an allergy when he was younger and used an inhaler. His allergy has now cleared up so he doesn't need an inhaler, this was one of the questions asked.

@Justenjoyit yes exactly that. My friend failed on that . I was shocked if honest.

@Gangstress I know right, they give you the information on what is required and are concerned when taking to my son about the fitness, because I am ex army I have always keept myself fit and encourage my children to do the same.

@Justenjoyit yes its the best way.
Ive always kept fit even not being in the army. But imagine its a massive thing once you enrol.

I wanted to apply years ago after being semi professional footballer but I think i got talked out of it lol.

At what stage of the process would I be rejected for asthma ??? Would I get as far as attending an interview or would they see that I have a history of asthma on my medical record and that would be it ???
