Yes he is the best person! His job isn't to solve wasteful spending. It is to dismantle institutions of the US Gov.
The dismantling Twitter was his working interview to prove he had the stuff to break something that worked well (or he could have used Tesla as an example but that is another convo)

I think he will be another Besotted Duke. While he has some talents, plenty of resources, they can be wasted on high stake moves.
There is also the matter of priorities. Just because someone has the skills, that doesn't mean they will necessarily use them to serve their country over their own interests.

@Miram My theory is that Musk is all about crafting his vision for the future of humanity, and he sees this role as a means to effectively eliminate anything that stands in his way. For all his recent exploits into politics, he's always struck me as a futurist first.
Maybe I'm wrong, but without a functioning government to accomplish things, people will eventually have to turn to the private sector, and at that point these billionaires get to call the shots

Huizong of Song was extravagant and unrestrained in spending, made unilateral decisions and undermined the financial and operational stability of his state over idealism. He neglected core responsibilities as a ruler in favor of personal projects and left a court vulnerable to systemic failures and personal conflicts. He concentrated power without adequate oversight, and it erode accountability. Much like how Musk is behaving. Different passions, same methods.

The aim isn't to do away with wasteful spending, it's to find ways to cut taxes on the rich even further.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
Its well known that Musk cut a lot of costs from X/Twitter after he purchased it.
Any "wasteful" spending he may have contributed to pales in comparison to the revelations about how much graft and corruption are baked into our system.

@SumKindaMunster I never said there wasn't, but you can't go around accusing US officials of money laundering and then back your claim up with a source that has no instances of it .
I doubt it. Without a group of people to lord yourself over, you're nothing. Hating anything remotely associated with liberalism is like a reflex to you. You've never been able to resist polluting a political post with the half-informed contrarian version of reality your echo chamber feeds you.
Unfortunately for everyone else, you have a very unbalanced news diet, and you jump into arguments too arrogant to realize you're not playing with a full deck. I'm sure your need to prove to everyone how smart you think you are will bring you back to me again. I'm already looking forward to seeing you try to warp reality to suit your biases, almost as much as you're looking forward to dodging any scrutiny of your pseudo-facts

It is always the first thing Trump does when in office. He puts twits in high ranking positions. He doesn't want anything good to happen, he just wants things to be different.
Musk is having fun running USA as a South African. Imagine South Africa running USA.. well, guess what, that is what you have.
And the Nazi German leader is laughing as his South African friends kids pee on the carpets in the oval office and tell the media to F Off.

@JamesPeace Welcome new guy, you're pretty special I must say.
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people with limited competence in a particular domain overestimate their abilities. It was first described by David Dunning and Justin Kruger in 1999. Some researchers also include the opposite effect for high performers: their tendency to underestimate their skills. In popular culture, the Dunning–Kruger effect is often misunderstood as a claim about general overconfidence of people with low intelligence instead of specific overconfidence of people unskilled at a particular task.

@trash What's the difference between free speech and propaganda?
