I never understood how they tauntingly said to others that Twitter was a private owned business and if they didn't like the rules then they should leave...
Yet... they're upset that a private owned company decided to sell to someone else?
Like dood, make up your mind.

He is a liberal. They're just pissed because he doesn't believe in censorship. Liberals love taking away people's rights.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SinlessOnslaught He's not, lmao. Billionaires just like corporations only care about their profit and will vote whatever will make them retain the most of it.
Also, iirc he recently announced he's voting red.

@Elessar He's NOT liberal. More libertarian.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SumKindaMunster Exactly, at least that's what he declared. He also announced he's voting red as of recently, if I don't remember bad.

Elon Musk magically became a conservative once his workers started trying to unionize and he started posting a bunch of bullshit when his ex started dating a transwoman. Twitter moderated him and so he got pissy and decided to buy the company because FREE SPEECH even though he fuckin' hates free speech.
Liberals who like him are idiots. Conservatives who like him are idiots. That said he's not buying twitter this is a pump & dump scam.

@CountScrofula Yep. I'll be surprised if the deal actually goes through.
Elon Musk won't turn Twitter into a free speech paradise like so many are claiming, that's dumb lol. There will still be bans, censorship, and all the other crap that comes with a social media platform.
That said, Twitter is trash so I really don't care who is in control of it. I want someone to run it into the ground.

@SW-User No he's like aggressively against free speech. SpaceX employees circulated an open letter about how much he's damaging morale and he fired everyone implicated immediately. FREE SPEECH
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
The Threat is against Censorship which Democrats use to have control of. It was a huge Asset that was taken away from them. They fear free speech will be spreading like Wild Fire.
Elessar · 26-30, M
The main concern I suppose is that it'll make it the new Gab/Parler/whatever. Personally I couldn't give a f*ck about Twitter, if he pushes it in that direction it'll end up like the aforementioned platforms imo. Hold my beer while I cry at the idea of a world without Twitter I guess lol
Another thing that p*sses many off is that he won't find money to pay taxes (the good ol' "eh but being a billionaire doesn't mean he has billions readily available to spend, it's mostly assets") and yet when it comes to buying stuff the cash comes out, and if I recall correctly that was a lot of cash.

Libs pre Elon/Twitter purchase..
“Twitters a private company, they can ban whoever they like..
libs post Elon/Twitter purchase.
“That’s too much power for one man to have

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout What twitter purchase? Musk is backing out, haven't you noticed?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
The concern was he was going to be more libertarian about moderating it, and TPTB want Twitter, Google, Facebook etc to isolate, limit and ostracize conservative viewpoints and pundits.
Musk owning Twitter puts a damper on that, for he is not a reliable leftist, he has his own opinions and beliefs and they don't line up with current left wing values.
Also, there was fear that he would expose how fake some accounts were and that did seem to happen initially, a lot of popular people on Twitter suddenly lost thousands of followers once he started getting serious about buying it.

@SW-User they are the Niagara Falls of menstruation!

Twitter was the most used social media site that actively attacked and censored conservatives and the truth. Many more turn to Twitter than MSM for their news. Now the facts will be getting to the voters. Liberals and facts don’t mix well .
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@TexChik And was proven they censored.
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
Interestingly people have views about behaviour that doesn't actually involve who you vote for.
I know lots of people left and right on here think that politics is the most important thing that exists.
It isn't. There are lots more important things.

I'm not mad about Musk buying twitter. I'm amused that he's now trying to back out!! Looks like he didn't bother with due diligence when he made his offer. Also didn't expect the stock markets to drop so much.
As a science minded progressive, I'll ALWAYS thank Elon Musk for dragging the world auto industry kicking and screaming into the electric age. I'm sure he sped up our electric transition by at least ten years, which will have a YUGE impact on future CO2 emissions. Kudos for his utility scale batteries too!
After what Musk has done for climate change, this whole twitter thing is a tempest in a teapot.

@ElwoodBlues When twitter was the only game in town. It would seem that it has lost its monopoly and is shown to be much less valuable than originally thought with all its fake accounts. TBH I am not sure that Musk ever intended to buy Twitter. His goal may well have been to expose and thus destroy it. It is a government operation so ......
ElwoodBlues · M
@hippyjoe1955 Check your timeline. Musk offered to buy Twitter in Apr 2022. All those right-wing alternatives had long been established by that time.
TBH I am not sure that Musk ever intended to buy Twitter.
Fake offers are stock manipulation. Especially when you sign a purchase & sale agreement. That could cost him billions.
Torsten · 36-40, M
because they hate free speech and Elon said he will make sure of free speech on that platform if he buys it and bring back people who were banned for good
rachelsj · 22-25, F
He may be but where business and profits are concerned
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Can you recall a day liberals aren’t mad?

He has made comments about maybe voting Republican for the first time
But the kicker is his libertarian commitment to free speech
